We ordered curry chicken and lamb korma. The chicken dish sat under about 2cm of red oily fat which was very off putting. It didn't even seem to mix back in when the sauce was stirred. The korma was OK but not fabulous by any means. Naan was alright, lacking flavor. Rice comes in excess. A big tub per curry which was just excessive. I don't know anyone that could eat that much rice. In the end we threw out lots of left overs. We couldn't imagine wanting to eat it the next day. Gross.

This Indian restaurant certainly did not disappoint. The meals were very tasty and the service was good. We were served quickly while not feeling rushed, we will definitely be back to dine again.

We stayed across the street at the Best Western Hobart and passed by this restaurant a few times a day.

We went for dinner and had the samosa, paneer, and chicken korma. The samosas were huge and very good and the paneer was nice as well. I was a bit disappointed with the chicken korma as it was just ok at best, but the plain nan we ate with the curry was very good.

The atmosphere was very dated with peeling wallpaper, but that was not that big of an issue for us.

The staff was very friendly but running around like crazy trying to keep up.

This might be the best for Hobart, but if you regularly eat Indian you might be a bit disappointed.

Like I said, I wanted to like it and would try it again if we had more time in Hobart.... I love Indian food!

We had previously been to Annapurna in North Hobart, but as we were staying in Battery Point this time, we decided to give Tandoor and Curry House a go. We called to make a booking mid afternoon and although no-one answered the phone, we turned up at 7pm to give it a go. The welcome we received was genuine, warm and engaging, and left us in no doubt that we had made the right decision to eat here. We ordered the lead-in banquet for two which let us order two meat curries, a vegetable and a dhal. Additionally, it came with an entree taster plate, naan, rice, poppa dams, raita and dessert. We arrived as two hungry, strapping lads and found it impossible to eat all the food. The food itself was delicious and this is easily one of the best Indian meals we've had. We decided to dine here on the strength of the other TA reviews, and we were not disappointed. Definitely give this place a go if you like great Indian food in a restaurant that welcomes you like an old friend.

After arriving on a late delayed flight into Hobart we stumbled across this place and despite them closing the doors were more than happy to organise some take away for us. When we opened it up we were literally blown away by how great the food was, the curry and the naan all tasted amazing. I think we will eat here the rest of our stay!
