I recently stayed for the first time at the RACV City Club hotel in Melbourne. Our office is in close proximity and we use the hotel for corporate bookings.

I was positively surprised by the very attentive check-in staff, the friendly service, very comfortable beds, free wifi internet access and delicious buffet breakfast rounded out the great experience. My room was very quiet.

My only very minor suggestion would be to include espressos and other coffees in the price of the buffet breakfast.

I will be back.

What a delight it is to stay at the RACV Club in Melbourne. The facilities are 5+ star. The rooms are large and well equipped. The dining options cater to every need from casual to formal, the staff are helpful and the fitness centre has a fabulous pool/spa/sauna set-up and the workout area has every conceivable machine. I love it!!

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the newly opened Level 8!!

This is everything one imagines a 'City Club' to be with great facilities, very comfortable and well thought out guest rooms, and of course an exceptional members dining room.

We stayed overnight for 'significant other's' birthday and dined in the members dining room. Quite exceptional food and wine list.

Wonderful staff in the club, and an all-round perfect experience in every respect!

The 'sister property' at Healesville also lives up to the same reputation...

Room Tip: All the guest rooms are great in our experience....

The RACV is a great place to stay if you're looking for a venue that is for both business and leisure. The front desk staff are exceptional, the rooms are reasonable size and the other facilities are great - especially the library...look out for the leather wingback chair by the window - you won't get much reading done, you'll spend you time window gazing!

I was put in here by a client for an overnight stay (ie I'm not an RACV member). I think the rate was about $270 including breakfast and parking.

The room was large and well appointed (eg good sized desk with lamp, jotter and power points); bathroom large. No complaints at all with the room, except that there was only hardwire internet (at a cost) which is a bit inconnvenient and I couldn't use my wi-fi only tablet PC.

I had dinner (buffet) and breakfast in the club restaurant. Both were OK without being brilliant. It did apear that a majority of the staff were inexperienced. There was nothing bad, but one could tell they were't quite on top of things.

For the price and central location, this was a good experience and I'd be happy to go back.

I’m a member of the RACV Club and stay here regularly.

The hotel is in a great location – an easy walk to the Bourke St Mall and to Southern Cross Station. The rooms are large with big TVs, comfortable beds and well appointed bathrooms. The rooms are spotlessly clean. The rooms are also very well priced, and the cost of room includes valet parking and buffet breakfast. The food available in the bistro and breakfast are good quality and a good range. And the Staff at the RACV city club are fantastic.

Note that bookings can only be made by members and their guests. And you need to book early – weekends fill up fast.

Room Tip: book early to get a room
