One week at the Comedy Festival & this was the perfect place to stay. Easy walking to the city centre and 15 min walk to the Arts Centre or Southbank. But if you don't want to walk, Mantra is on the free City Tram and Free City Bus Lines. Easy walking to Queen Victoria Markets to stock up on yummies for the apartment, but if you don't want to cook, a full breakfast in the restaurant is only $12.50 and for lunch or dinner you are in easy walking to Chinatown, Little Greece, Lygon for Italian - you get the picture!! Got a great deal on the apartment (one bedroom) and on checkin enquired about the chance of a King bed and was upgraded to a two bedroom. Great service. I bought flowers at the market and reception found me the perfect vase from their storeroom. We would definately stay here on our next trip as it was a great location, with great facilities and great service.

Room Tip: 3 sets of friends so saw three apartments (11th (1 bedroom) & 16th floors (2 bedrooms ). All were of the same standard.

Enjoyed this Hotel for a 1 night getaway to the CBD. Great location opposite the Park so the kids could grab their scooters and have some fun. Loved the pool area and although a little cold to start with it was great to get in a swim with the kids. A 7Eleven on the corner is handy and the rooms are well equiped with large fridges, dishwasher, washing machine and dryers. Our room had a great view of the gardens and the exhibition building. The bathrooms are a little tired and the shower head was not great, but still a good hotel. The staff seemed friendly and effective at keeping the place looking good. Will definately stay again as the location is good and the rooms are big and spacious. Thank you

I stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment with a friend and our 2 daughters while on a shopping trip to Melbourne. The hotel is well located on the city fringe and a quick walk can get you to the CBD or a tram stop. There is a good coffee shop downstairs & a handy 7Eleven for those wanting to avail themselves of the cooking facilities in the apartments.
However, the bathrooms were very tired and mouldy, mostly due to the fact that there are no exhaust fans so everything stays moist. The kitchen had also seen better days with minimal equipment and scarred cooktops.
We were unable to adjust the air-conditioning so even though the weather outside was cool we were roasting inside & had to sleep with the balcony door open to get some fresh air.
The rooms were supposed to be serviced daily, but all they did was replace the bath towels. They didn't clean the hand basins or even remove the rubbish from the rest of the apartment.
Our dishwasher wouldn't work when we put it on one morning & it was reported to reception wen we left for the day. Some 8 hours later when we returned it still hadn't been fixed & the dirty dishes were still inside it. It was only by complaining to the front desk again that a maintenance man came to fix the problem & we had to ask to get some clean glasses from room service to use. With the hundreds of hotels in Melbourne you van get better than this!!
