“Great holiday apartments for families”
Reviewed 6 February 2014

We stayed in a two bedroom apartment with three teenagers hoping to be able to walk/catch public transport to all the city sights. This was a great location as the city circle tram picks up almost right outside. Reception staff were great and helpful, the pool was relaxing at the end of a long day and the beds(including the sofa bed) were comfortable. Our favourite part was the restaurant downstairs, great food, fabulous friendly staff and willing to cater to holidaying families (coffee and dessert takeaway...not a problem).

Room Tip: Rooms with park view are great.

I often have to travel for work and it is really great when you can stay in a place where you feel safe and welcome. The staff and reception are very polite, friendly and helpful. The Hotel I stayed in was very close to work, shops and public transport.
I was lucky to be upgraded to a wonderful room with a lovely view, it was very quiet and I could go out on the balcony for a view of the city lights.
Room service is great, breakfast is good and the restaurant's food and service is of very high quality.

Stayed in a two bedroom apartment for a three night stay. We found the hotel was in a good location with the free tram and other trams right outside plus it was easy to walk into the centre of the city if you preferred. The hotel was pretty quiet and traffic outside did not bother us with all the doors and windows closed.

As for the rooms, we found it a little odd that there was only one sofa and one other seat in the lounge for an apartment that can accommodate up to 6. When you are on holidays you want to relax and not be squished on one sofa or sitting on dining chairs.

The Ensuite contained a bath and the second shower also had the laundry and was rather small and in need of some maintenance and a good clean. The towels were stained though clean but investing in some better quality towels would be a great idea.

Our washing machine stopped working and the dishwasher also did not work(the cleaner tried to use it) and as a result we got shifted rooms with our wet washing.
The second room's washing machine and dishwasher worked however the airconditioning would not get cold and considering the temp was the high 30's low 40's it was a little frustrating.
The staff did their best to help but they even commented that maintenance isn't regularly done on the apartments.(Nor is there any oncall maintenance people on weekends)

The aparments also had stained carpets, pieces missing from ceilings, walls etc had quite a lot of marks on them and the balcony only had one chair.
It was good to have detergent/cleaning products supplied however more care needs to be taken as we even had bananas from the previous occupents in the fridge.

We got a good deal on the accommodation price however if we were paying full price I would not be too impressed. We can generally overlook general wear and tear however being a regular Mantra hotel visitor we were a little disappointed with the apartments. The staff however were great and very helpful.

We were here as part of a package for the tennis, so I don't know if the messing around with the room bookings were their fault or not. But we had rung them a few days earlier and been assured the bookings were right. When we arrived they had not sorted it and continued to be confused. The staff were very friendly and tried to be helpful, but we had to "wait to hear from the manager" a few too many times .

The apartments themselves were fine, but the bathrooms could do with a bit of work, and perhaps it is time to get some new towels. It is close to the free city circle tram, and it is easy to get around from here, and not too noisy.

Stayed in a Two bedroom for 3 days with our two teenagers .
The room was small for a 2 bedroom . The second bathroom is also the laundry and is small , they also could of been cleaner .
The master bedroom window were unable to be opened so was quite stuffy . The 2 bedroom was small and a challenge for 2 people to share ( especially 2 teenagers ).
The kitchen was ok with a dishwasher but again could of been cleaner ( some dishes and pots were dirty ) .
The location was great with free tram stop just on the corner .
Parking is $30 a day and can be a challenge to find a spot .
We booked with Wotif so had discounted rates , I would of been pretty disappointed if I had paid full rate as I think that there is probably better value elsewhere .
