This hotel is absolutely amazing! We loved every minute. We purchased an executive package which included access to the lounge which was fantastic. The rooms are stunning and we had gorgeous views over the yarra river. Can't wait to stay again!

Can't beat location if attending a conference at the convention centre next door. A good coffee shop next to the foyer which served reasonably priced breakfasts. A 10 min walk to the casino and restaurants. Also a good Japanese restaurant next door as well.
Room was very well laid out. Modern furnishings and comfortable bed. For a new 5 star hotel disappointing that free wi fi only available in the lounge and they feel the need to gouge for in room access.
Check in and check out was slow. Two staff on when checking in and one when checking out even though it was peak check out time. Despite the obvious queue and growing annoyance of folk on the ever growing queue, it took a good ten minutes for another staff to turn up. Must be a measure to push people to fill out the express check out forms at the conveniently located counter right in front of the reception.
Would only stay here again if have a conference at the convention centre.

After a long haul flight from the UK, this was our first hotel accommodation for this trip to Melbourne. As such we decided to book into the Yarra suite to give us more space and access to the Executive Lounge. The room was all we had hoped for in terms of the available space and its interesting configuration. With one wall of the lounge area all glass looking out on the Yarra River it was wonderful. On arrival at the hotel the front of house staff were somewhat diffident, one staff member at the Reception Desk which really slowed things down. The cases took quite some time to get to our room. The facilities in the room (apart from the lack of complimentary bottled water – because the tap water is drinkable!!) were of a high standard but there was one particular shortcoming – there was no free WiFi access in the room – only in the lounge and at the reception area. To expect guests who are paying a lot for rooms (particularly the suites) to pay more for WiFi in the rooms these days is just ridiculous – and it was not cheap! The Executive Lounge offered a wide range of food for breakfast. There was very limited food choice in the evenings with beer and wine on offer. The young staff in the Executive Lounge were extremely helpful and pleasant on all fronts – advice on using the facilities, advice on local attractions etc. The location of the hotel is perfect for walking into in the city centre. So overall a very positive experience with the exception of free WiFi in the rooms……come on Hilton, get with the times and respond to the needs of your customers., rather than just profit.

Room Tip: Worth paying for the suite

I've reviewed this hotel before when I came on a business trip and stayed in a standard room. Recently stayed at this hotel again, this time in a Yarra Suite.

The suite is very spacious with a separate living area that has a whole side with floor to ceiling views of the Yarra River. There is a walk in wardrobe which is great for those who pack heaps or for those on longer trips. Toilet is separate from the bathroom which was an added bonus. What I really liked about the hotel is that everything in the room is new and modern.

We ordered room service for a late night snack and found that to be quite average. Had room service again for breakfast thinking that it would be different since we thought that the quality may have lacked because we ordered at around 12am the night before. Once again, found it to be quite average.

The hotel doesn't have a day spa, but has someone who comes in if you wanted the service. the spa menu is quite limited and there were only 2 types of massages available. When I called up to make a booking, the regular lady was not available so they booked through an external company. From my massage experience with this external company, I wouldn't recommend it, as I felt that it was more of a back rub than a massage. You are probably better off going elsewhere for a day spa experience.

Executive lounge was great! I came up for afternoon tea one afternoon and was amazed by the selection available!

If you have a car, I'd recommend the Valet parking because if you park at the DFO you will have to pay each time you enter and exit.

Would definitely stay here again next time I am in Melbourne.

Room Tip: Yarra Suite

I had booked this Hotel through Expedia as a birthday surprise for my boyfriend. I wanted somewhere that was in a good location but also with a bit of luxury. I was not disappointed. We arrived at 6am in the morning and was offered an upgrade which meant we could check in straight away, and also access to the Executive Lounge. So well worth it. The room was lovely, floor to ceiling windows on the 17th floor, fabulous bathroom and an extremely comfortable bed. After a long day of exploring Melbourne we arrived back to our room to find a complimentary bottle of champagne with strawberries and a card as a birthday gift for my boyfriend. What an awesome thing to do! Such a personal touch which is sometimes lacking in large Hotels. The breakfast in the Executive lounge was really good, great variety surrounded by views of Melbourne. The Hotel is very walkable to all of the main attractions in Melbourne and there are a few very nice restaurants and coffee shops very nearby. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Hilton. Thank you.

Room Tip: I asked for a room on a higher level - 17th floor and the view was spectacular. Also the upgrade to...

This is a perfect choice for those who require easy access to the Convention Centre. Also very good option for corporate travellers as it is comfortable walking distance (toting a trolley bag in heels) to Docklands ... eg ANZ, NAB, AMP & Myer. Rooms are spacious and comfortable and service is efficient, though at times can get a bit built at reception. Bar is also a good option for a light meal. Easy dash next door to DFO for some shopping, though some of the stores there are a bit hit and miss these days.

Room Tip: Select a room away from the lifts for more peace & quiet.
