This NYE a few of us decided to try somewhere new in Melbourne -Campari House was having a NYE party themed 'a touch of heaven or hell'. Unfortunately Campari house decided to remove the touch of heaven and focus solely on later.
The tickets were $200 each for the following: roof top access - yes; 5 hours of drinks (this was absolutely the best part of the night (excluding company of friends)), the drinks were flowing freely, although basic - in terms of quality); substantial canapés - we each got about 6 Costco inspired pieces (had to go get food after the event - even the tiny size 6 girls that don't eat were starving); djs spinning tracks on every level - well obviously not our level but we did have some crackly speakers playing intermittent music; watch the melbourne fireworks - we had a blinker inspired view directly up, but you could see a few flashes; and a 3am finish - which happened at 2:15am lights on and we were kicked out onto the street. Some non advertised bonuses were the amount of smoke on the rooftop and the presence of people who had not paid the extra $95 for access to
the overcrowded smoking area. We also didn't get to have a proper count down at midnight - hard to get that right when hosting a NYE party though.
The bar service was pretty good, the guys working there made an effort and were nice and we had more than our fill of drink.
Overall Campari House doesn't rate as anything I would recommend at that price and wouldn't trust anything they advertise. So many better places to celebrate at in melbourne for any occasion.
