Just had to go after hearing all the rave reviews! Tucked away, just off Collins Street, I almost missed it. Excellent cuisine - I had the Lamb for mains and the panacotta for desert. A tad expensive but worth it!

My boyfriend and I went to The Kitchen Cat for dinner last Saturday night. We went in for the second sitting at 8pm. We were welcomed by the manager and shown to our table. The complimentary bread we were given was amazing!! The waiters were friendly and gave us time to look over the food and drink menus. We ordered cocktails, and my boyfriend was able to order a cocktail off the menu. When ordering our mains, we had ordered the pork belly and chicken. Both came out looking amazing and with generous proportions. They tasted as good as they looked!! We were too full for desert, but the strawberry sorbet was amazing! I highly recommend the Kitchen Cat and can't wait to return when I come back to Melbourne!

We've eaten here three times, twice in April and once on our last visit to Melbourne. The former site of Fifteen, The Kitchen Cat has an intimate feel and the staff make you feel very welcome.
On our most recent visit there we had the fixed price lunch menu, 29- for two courses (either entree/main or entree/dessert or main/dessert) or 37- for all three courses. There is a choice of two courses for each section and the price also includes a glass of wine.
The food was delicious :) and thank you Toby Puttock who was in the kitchen supervising and cooking too, it was yummy!
The breads and mineral water and the beginning of the meal are a nice touch and the atmosphere was buzzy with tables of business lunches going on, without being overpowering or loud. The service is prompt and friendly and the food reasonably priced and plenty of it.
All in all a lovely lunchtime venue, capped off by a nice walk up Collins Street to a movie :)

One of Melbourne's little gems :)
