This was our third stay at FitzGeorge. The house is very comfortable - especially the beds! There is a well equipped kitchen which leads into a small private garden surrounded by scented Jasmine and with outdoor seating and a BBQ. The bathroom is spacious with a separate efficient shower. The property has heating/ air con in all rooms.
It is easy to communicate with the owners and we have found them very helpful.
The location is great - peaceful spot but a few minutes walk takes you to a vibrant area full of cafÄ—s, shops , good supermarkets and tram stop into the city .
We have no hesitation in recommending this property. The only caution would be for tiny children who might have a problem with the stairs. The owners are aware of this and have other properties close by which might suit little ones.

Super cozy stay place, just feel like staying at home. very convenient location and Coles supermarket, café shop, clinic just was at door step. with big parking lot even our rental caravan with 6 berth was able to park in it. Totally our family like it, definitely we will stay again while come back to Melbourne. Cheers and thanks for Kartina arrangement.
Fitzgeorge was exactly as advertised, lovely apartment in a great location in Fitzroy. Downstairs open plan living, big TV, comfy lounge with nice outlook to garden courtyard, good kitchen with quality appliances including dishwasher, washing machine and dryer, extra loo. Access to garage. Upstairs two large bedrooms, quality beds, large bathroom with great shower. Air conditioning throughout. The area is quiet considering it is only a 20 minute walk into the city. Transport nearby. Short distance to supermarket, liquor store and a variety of pubs and restaurants. Good communication with owners. Absolutely recommended.

Travelling with our three young girls, this location suited us perfectly. It was easy to find and close to everything, trams, supermarket, dining, we even walked to the museum. We were close enough to visit the markets, aquarium and MCG using a taxi only to get to the markets and trams and walking for everything else.
Accommodation was clean and well presented and there was even milk in the fridge for our coffee. My 7 year old loved the 'milk boxes' and they all had a great time wearing themselves out going up and down the stairs.
There was plenty of room in the bedrooms for everyone's luggage and the living area was cosy and comfortable. The bathroom had heaps of lovely soft towels, a hairdryer and tissues and the kitchen had everything necessary for a bit of home snack making even dinner making had we been so inclined.
The entry instructions were easy to follow as were all other instructions left in the information folder for us. The only thing missing from the info folder that would have been helpful was some local takeaway/restaurant menus and tram maps.
I had a friendly text on our first night to make sure everything was going ok and to reassure that I could text or call at any time with any queries.
I would definitely recommend Fitzgeorge to family and friends and we will stay there again on any future trips to Melbourne.
Thanks to Fitzgeorge for helping to make our stay a comfortable, relaxed and very memorable stay. Awesome value for money!

We stayed at FitzGeorge for 3 delightful nights. The location was ultra convenient, located between Brunswick and Smith Streets and running off Gertrude Street. Shops and restaurants galore to entrance the senses.
It is so close to the city, this inner urban paradise.
A short cab ride to catch "The Book Club" at Southbank Theatre. Oh so convenient.
Walk to Rice, Paper, Scissors for a sublime Vietnamese meal. Oh so yummy.
And the absolute delight of being able to breakfast at Brunetti's. Words fail me.....
We could have cooked at home as the kitchen had everything necessary, the bedrooms were spacious with comfy beds and there was a pretty courtyard for summer evenings or relaxing breakfasts.
It is advertised as having 2 bathrooms but in fact there is only 1, plus a separate toilet downstairs and the garage is only accessible by a small car due to the fact that the street is very narrow. They do provide a parking permit which allows street parking.

This house was excellently appointed - everything you wanted was on hand. It was in an excellent location for shopping, food and entertainment. Will definitely try to stay here again next time I'm in Melbourne.
Four sisters stayed here for a week in early April, intending a mix of eating at home and out. We bought lunch out, and ate out on only one evening as once we were home from a day of walking, we were too comfortable to venture forth. The kitchen had everything we needed for our limited cooking. The living area was well set out, although would not have seated 6. The table was big enough for 6, and there was plenty of crockery and cutlery so we could fill the dishwasher before running out. The beds were comfortable, and bathroom big enough for a few people to clean teeth or style hair.
Reaching the apartment was interesting - the area looks really dodgy with graffiti on buildings, and a decrepit building over the road - but we had no hassles from anyone. The cobbled road was interesting to wheel a suitcase over. The tramstop on Gertrude St was a couple of minute's walk, the supermarket about 6 minutes away on Smith St. Brunswick St and its great mix of shops were also very close.
I'd love to return, and explore more of Melbourne, which I found a friendly place, willing to direct lost joggers, cyclists or walkers. I'd take a bigger suitcase though.
