“Fantastic location”

This hotel could not be in a better location for shopping! In a cool laneway with cafes and a yummy bakery, opposite myers. It was about 20 mins to walk from Flinders Station. Hotel was basic but staff helpful. Beds comfy and water nice and hot. DOnt expect luxuary but really good value I thought

We couldn't fault this centrally located hotel, clean spacious for what we wanted it for ( sleep in). Only short walks to downtown Melbourne.. Very friendly staff and for the price we couldn't argue and we'd stay here again if ever in Melbourne.

Causeway Inn on the Mall was right in the heart of the city. Walk out the hotel, and up the road about 20 metres and you find yourself in the Bourke Street mall, where there is also a tram stop conveniently located. On the doorstep of the hotel you have quite a few cafes to choose from if you want a nice breakfast or just a coffee.

The location was perfect for my trip, I walked everywhere. Walked to lygon st, the italian centre, for lunch/dinner which was about a 15 minute walk, I also walked to the Crown Casino on South Bank which also took around 15 minutes. For my trip, it was in a perfect location.

Only downfall is that the room was quite small, not much space at all. However, it was clean, and basic.

Trying to get directions to the carpark entrance that Causeway on the Mall uses took three phone calls and 2 hrs of driving around Melbourne. Saying the cnr of Collins and Elizabeth does not tell someone which way they should be travelling and which of those two streets one should be travelling on. Also, being a hotel, one would think they would know you are a tourist and not familiar with their city. That aside they weren't helpful, didn't care that the carpark had locked all the stairways and lifts and you were forced to walk up and down all the car ramps with your luggage. There only comment is "we have nothing to do with the carpark". Well..... it would be nice if you could at least warn people since you do advertise it on your website. It would be ok to be dropped off by a taxi.
The rooms are VERY small, basic, grey boxes and not inviting. You have to take a lift to the second floor, walk to another lift to get to your floor all the time. A bit of a rabbit warren and scary if there was a fire. Hard to get out. It's only advantage is it's location which I have to say is great.
I travelled a lot around Victoria and Melbourne and have nothing but praise for everywhere we stayed except this place, so I'm not a whiny, complaining person.

Stayed at Causeway Inn for 2 nights with family recently and I was impressed. The rooms were small (booked two separate rooms, one twin and other queen) but they were tidy, clean, cozy and the bathrooms were in good condition.
The Causeway Inn is located in the hustle and bustle of the city (Bourke St), getting around CBD's shops, cafes, nightlife and other attractions was a breeze.
The staff were friendly, the breakfast package was awesome, we had a good experience with Causeway Inn and will definitely come back when we visit Melbourne next time!

This hotel has an excellent location, in the middle of the CBD region, This hotel is located in the middle of Bourke St shopping mall. Walking time to the SouthBank is around 15-25 mins and 15 mins to the Yarra River.

My room has 2 twin beds. Space is tight. However, the rooms and bathroom are maintained clean.

The free breakfast are basic such as coffee/tea/mile, breads and jams, fruits and cereals, The hotel staff are friendly.

The wifi service has to be paid for. However, because this hotel is right in the middle of a major shopping mall, there are department stores (less than 5 mins away) which offer free wifi, e.g. David Jones.

In addition, there is a tourist information booth within this shopping mall.

Overall, I would recommend this hotel when you are in Melbourne.

We chose to pay extra for a room with a view. The room was small but adequate but unfortunately the aircon was not working. Reception sent someone to fix it but when it still did not work they moved us, without fuss, to another room. The room was clean and well presented. If you are looking for a Hotel with all the trimmings this one is not for you. However, if you are looking for a clean, comfortable Hotel with friendly staff close to all the City has to offer at a good price, this one is for you. The continental breakfast was included with the room and was all you would want. We would definitely stay there again. We have friends who also use this Hotel and have always been happy with their stay.
