The staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant staff were cheerful, friendly and polite in the extreme. The apartment was spacious and comfortable. However, the lighting was poor and badly dispersed- for example the bedroom was well lit whereas the living area was very dim. The kitchenette was very bright whereas the living area where we spent most of our time and where we wanted to read our books was very dim. The televisions were not working on pay TV. We had to get assistance which helped with the living area TV but the bedroom one was available to us in spite of a second remote control being provided.
Finally, the shower alcove had plenty of black mouldy sections in the grout.
Our stay was affected by the first two issues but we were disappointed with the standard of the shower alcove. We are seasoned international travellers and have come to expect a slightly higher standard.

Just spent 4 nights here in a 2 bedroom adjoining apartment. Very comfortable beds, great breakfast and heaps of room. The reception staff didn't have great local knowledge, (thank goodness for smart phones and Google!) but we managed. Also, the restaurant staff, although very pleasant and eager to help kept getting our breakfast drinks orders wrong. It wasn't a biggy but probably eats into the hotels profits a bit!!

Stayed for one night for work in executive studio which was a great size, with a lounge/dining and kitchen area - not your standard studio! Nice to have bath and shower, and a generally comfortable room.

Ok location - down a quiet street at night which is a little disconcerting walkig by yourself. Close to hardware lane but a 10 min walk to main cbd.

My main complaint though was how cold I was!! The aircon was freezing, even when I set it to the hottest setting on the wall. Thankfully there were extra blankets but an electric blanket also may have helped.

We booked three rooms for a 4 night stay. All rooms were nice roomy and clean and met expectations. Location is very good. Central and close to everything you need. Easy access to taxis. Lots of food options if you don't want to eat at the hotel. The hotel food pricing was reasonable.

Well the rooms are nice....food in restaurant is good but doesn't change at all...good for short stays.

Had some minor things left in the room on departure only to discover they can't find them. Reported the theft and received no compensation at all.

Make sure you triple check before you leave.

Like I mentioned food is good and bar service is gr8.

Prbly won't stay here next melb trip....I heard racv is awesome.

We stayed for two nights at the Mantra on Little Bourke and were not impressed. Here were our main concerns:

1. The kitchen lacked many basic utensils, including a frying pan and sharp knife. There were no sponges or scourers. When I rang housekeeping, the call was answered by reception who said they'd pass on my requests. An hour went by. I rang again and then someone turned up with a some of these items.
2. The air-conditioning in the bedroom wasn't working well and we had an uncomfortable night. I mentioned this to reception who asked what time would suit for their engineer to investigate. I suggested 1.00pm, and went to have a shower. Loud knocking made me wrap a towel around myself to see what the problem was - there was a Do Not Disturb sign on the door after all. It was the engineer, hours earlier than arranged. At least he fixed the air-conditioning.
3. The bed wasn't comfortable - two singles joined together.

At least the water-pressure was excellent and the hotel was also well-located. the restaurant downstairs was also good.
