We love our Afternoon Tea too! It really is a Grand experience with a mouth-watering selection of sugary treats and savoury delights. We hope to see you back again for more…once is never enough!

We stayed at the grand Hyatt for a special occasion. Location, room and facilities were great and clean. Only downside, valet took a little while to get the car up when requested. Otherwise, service was prompt- staff were polite.

Dear Avros2,

We’re so pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay with us from our central location to state-of-the-art facilities. We hope you managed to check out the gym, which is only going to get better in the next month with the arrival of new equipment. We look forward to welcoming you back soon.

The location of this hotel is great, right on Collins St next to all the boutiques and a short walk from the main areas of Melbourne.
The rooms are not of the highest standard and felt a little faded, the headboard behind the bed in our room looked stained during daylight as though cheap glue had been used to fix it to the wall.
The gym is great and very large and the club lounge had a great view of Melbourne with very good staff.
We also had issues with our wifi each day which meant we had to ask the helpdesk to log us in every morning.
I've stayed at the Park Hyatt up the road before and prefer that hotel.

Dear TopherTravel,

We agree that Gran dHyatt is lucky to be in the epicentre of all things fabulous in Melbourne, whether it is food, fashion or theatre! It’s disappointing that your room didn’t live up to expectations but on the flipside that the gym and Club Lounge did. Our hotel does offer some spectacular views of the city skyline. We hope to welcome you back again and will strive to amend the little things that impact the guest experience like wifi.

We stayed at the Grand Hyatt in Melbourne in late Feb as two couples x two rooms. The husbands checked in as the girls shopped. Only had one room showing under our name not two. I had to call my 2IC at home, find the confirmation then email it to the boys. Once sorted with two rooms, couldn't ask for more. Our rooms were spacious, clean and well designed. Minibar had lovely lemonade and soda water bottles. Beds were super comfy. Amenities nice. I found an expensive bracelet in a box in the wardrobe draw on arrival, got quite excitied to think my husband had bought it for me, wasn't the case, it was a previous guests. Returned it to reception on checkout. I hope they found the owner. We had booked the Press Club for dinner so our walk was easy and quick to it. Pre-dinner drinks in the bar at the hotel were lovely. Staff friendly especially the front door men. Check out was smooth and quick. Highly recommend the GH.

This is not a new hotel but its decor and services have kept apace with time and so there is little to complain about in this respect. The rooms are large and spacious and the bathroom was new and pleasant. My room had a fantastic view of the Yarra river and the adjacent Botanical gardens. In terms of location it is ideal - right in the heart of the Central Business District and the fabulous restaurants along Flinders Lane, just a 2 minute walk away, and across the river from Federation Square. The morning buffet has a very extensive mix of western and Asian selections and you would be well advised to wander down on an empty stomach to savour all that is on offer.

Room Tip: Stay in a higher room with a park view

I stayed in this hotel on the executive level with my husband and 8 month old daughter for 3 nights in March.

From the moment we checked in to the moment we checked out I continued to be blown away by the staff and facilities. We had hired some baby equipment (portacot, high chair etc) as we had travelled from Brisbane. I was expecting to have to collect it from reception and take it up to our room. When we arrived I was informed that everything was already up in our room and set up for us. The lady at the front desk even arranged late check out for us as our flight wasn't leaving until 4pm.

I will always stay at the Grand Hyatt whenever we go to Melbourne. It was amazing.

Room Tip: I highly recommend paying the extra and getting an executive level room. They are worth every cent.
