We stayed here for our wedding anniversary with our two children. After a very bad experience at check-in Kishor- guest experience manger, introduced himself to us and he went above and beyond to make sure the rest of our stay of relaxing and 'hassle free'.
If you are thinking of upgrading to the club lounge level- do it!! It's fantastic value for money- so relaxing- even with the two kids. They have iPads for the kids and free wifi.
The pool area is also fantastic and well worth a visit.
The location of the hotel is perfect for exploring all that Melbourne has to offer.
Overall our experience had it's flaws but we would definitely make a return visit- thanks to Kishor.

Just stayed 2 nights at the Intercontinental in Melb.
Service was excellent, from the porter who brought our luggage in, to the front desk, the cleaners, the waiters.
We had the Club option included, and was a great bonus.
The room was quiet, clean and well appointed. Beds were superb - after driving from Adelaide it was heaven getting into that bed.

Having stayed at many IHG group properties over the last few years, I was looking forward to spending a few days in melbourne in one of their club rooms. The club rooms are well worth the extra money as they include access to the club lounge which provides hot breakfast (including eggs cooked to your liking), afternoon tea and evening drinks with canapes as well as all day coffee and tea. The room was spacious with a well set out bathroom and a nespresso coffee machine in the living area. The evening turn down service, bottle of water and chocolate was well beyond what was expected. Valet parking was efficient although a little slow.. but that probably had more to do with the limited area out the front of the hotel, so they couldn't really bring up that many cars at a time.

Food and beverage in this hotel were well above expectations and all staff that we encountered were both warm and friendly without trying to overdo it.

Room Tip: Try to get a room with a outside window... they feel a little more spacious than what the others do...

Our first experience of the hotel was not memorable at all. However we decided to give the hotel another chance and they came through living up to all our expectations. The staff could not be more helpful and the whole experience was fantastic.

Stayed in the hotel for my wife's birthday the weekend 21-23 sep and had a wonderful time. Room was immaculate and comfortable. Location is fairly central and with taxi or tram services at our door. Had dinner at the restaurant and was greatly disappointed with the our main meal, although the setting is amazing. Would definitely stay here again.

We stayed at the intercontinental on Sept 22 2012 and it was one of the loveliest stays we have had in Melbourne. The staff were consistently pleasant, helpful and friendly. The beds and pillows so comfortable and the total block out blinds really added to the overall sleep experience. There were quality touches everywhere. From the coffee and tea selection through to the hair products, soaps, moisturizer, bath robes and slippers. We have been members of the priority privilege program for 6 months ago and it is without doubt the best value reward package we have been a part of. We were entitled to a free cocktail each, 25% off the rate and was even given a free bottle of champagne and a card for my birthday. Coming back after dinner, we were greeted with chocolates on the pillow. Just a brilliant place to stay and a really worthwhile rewards program with deals also available at Holiday Inn and Crown Plaza. Overall rating of 10 out of 10. Thank you

My sister and I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights whilst visiting Melbourne over a weekend. This is a very nice hotel and the rooms were luxurious, but I am just not a fan of rooms looking out over an atrium or in our case a wall. It was just a bit dark. The hotel staff virtually ignored us at checkin and started serving other customers. Not great for a 5 star hotel. What I did enjoy about this hotel was the restaurants and bars. We decided to stay in one night and were pleasantly surprised. The hotel isn't in my preferred location in Melbourne but it is easy to get around with the tram virtually stopping at the front door.
