What a great walk on a cool afternoon. Just lovely. Plenty of spots to just sit and relax. You can come in and out several entrances/exits.

Beautiful place to go in Melbourne. Would definitely recommend it as a place to check out whilst on holiday in this beautiful city!

Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne is an easy tram ride or walk from the CBD. It is well laid out with a variety of flowers, shrubs and trees. There is a herb garden, ferny area, many grassed areas for a picnic and paths to wander around and view the gardens which also have many little waterways. The cafe is also nice with outdoor and indoor seating, the scones with jam and cream have always been a treat but it has a full menu. Children can feed the ducks. It is a nice place to visit both in summer and winter, and a relaxing way to spend a hour or two.

A great place to visit for picnics or a stroll to enjoy the scenery and suitable for families of all ages. We have visited with our family from the time they were young children to young adults and always enjoyed time spent here.
