This is the second Quest I stayed at in Melbourne that I was disappointed with, We asked for a 2 bedroom apartment for the last night of a week long trip to Melbourne. I have never been in a smaller apartment even though I have stayed in apartments in Paris and Rome. The bedrooms had no windows so we slept with the doors open. The living area had the kitchenette pretty much in the lounge area. The room was on the second level above reception and looked out to a grim alleyway. The rate was $239 internet deal in the high season. It did us fine for one night as we were hardly there (I would not have liked to spend time in this room).

We stayed here overnight and found the place to be great value for money. We had a studio apartment, which had a separate bedroom, lounge and a small kitchen. Everything was very clean and comfortable. The location was fantastic, just around the corner from theatres, restaurants and shopping yet very quiet at night. We highly recommend this hotel and would definitively stay here again.

We stayed at Quest on Lonsdale over the Melbourne Cup period and found our apartment quiet comfortable. Location is very convenient and very close to the free inner city tram which makes moving around the city a breeze. The convenience store next door is a godsend. We will be staying at Quest on our next visit to Melbourne. Some slight communication problems with our booking but that was sorted out pretty quickly.

This place is great for a getaway with friends. We had a 2 bedroom apartment with a lounge room and kitchen. Although the bedrooms are quite small, they are sufficient went you are out and about all day long.
The price for 2 bedrooms (i.e. for max 4 people) was very reasonable. I would definitely stay here again.
Location wise, Quest on Lonsdale is situated at the north-east end of the city, which is near Parliament House and Flagstaff Gardens. We found many great cafes and restaurants in this part of the city, like the European.
It was about a 5 minute walk down Lonsdale St to get to the main area of shops (Myer, Melbourne Central etc.).
The hotel is very quiet, perfect for a good night's sleep after a long day of shopping!

Stayed here for a week for work. Chose it because it was the best value I could find on wotif ($105/ night). The apartments are about a 5 minute walk from a major supermarket, plus there was a small (but overpriced) supermarket downstairs so it was quite conveniently located. The room itself was quite basic, but equipped with all the necessities - kitchenette, small dining table and clean bathroom. It exceeded my expectations given the price.

We stayed in a 1 bedroom apartment for 2 nights in early Aug 09. We found it on Wotif and while price and location looked good, there were no reviews on TA so we knew we were taking a small risk.

The apartments are about 150 metres from the Princess Theatre just around the corner on the next block. There is also a mid-size mini-mart (IGA Express ) 2 doors away - they had pretty much everything needed for a short self catering stay. Prices are steeper than expected but given CBD location, shop size and convenience, not outrageous.

Check-in was a little unusual, rather than taking an imprint of credit card for any additional charges they required a signed credit card voucher for $100. I was assured this was their standard practice & checked again on check-out. However, no charges showed up on the credit card statement afterward so I guess they knew what they were doing. Other than that, check-in & check-out were standard & pretty quick.

Initial impression was tarnished by a vacuum cleaner left propped in the doorway to our room (forgivable at 3pm when we checked in if they were still cleaning rooms on the floor but it was still there at 6 so we had to ask for it to be moved).

The room was very good. Clean (non-smoking) and quite roomy with separate bedroom, bathroom and kitchenette/lounge. Kitchenette benches and some other surfaces were showing a bit of wear and tear. Bed was comfortable. Large wardrobe. Kitchenette had glassware, cutlery, crockery etc. TV had Foxtel.

There was a window to a balcony overlooking Lonsdale St from the bedroom - we didn't spend any time out there because it was either cool or showery or both - but we could see that generations of smokers had used it & dropped their butts through the metal mesh flooring to accumulate about 10 cm below. A bit gross but not easily accessible for cleaning. I recommend you don't look!

A solid 3 and a half star property, very comfortable, good location. Could probably squeeze an extra half star if they attended to detail.
