“wonderful hotel”
Reviewed 31 May 2013

Great place to stay. Staff were friendly and helpful. Check in was easy. Rooms were spotless. Better than some expensive hotels right in the city. Beds were so comfortable. We had a city view which is heaps better. Sun streams in the room in the afternoon. Big comfortable armchair to sit in. We have stayed here before and had a room on the other side which wasn't as good, but only for the view and the light. It is great value for money, especially if you get a deal with buffet breakfast. Walked around Albert Park Lake after our buffet breakfast. There is Roscoe's restaurant across the road which is great for a meal or just drinks and snacks. The hotel is a bit further out of the city but it is a short tram ride and you don't get the noise of being right in the city. Got the tram to a wonderful Thai restaurant in Domain Rd. It is nice for a change to not be right in the middle of the city. Highly recommend staying here.

This hotel was in the area we wanted to stay in for an appointment, but we would stay here anytime! Very professional staffing, clean, quiet and comfortable room, and with great views from the 8th floor where we stayed. Loved the buffet breakfast too! Really enjoyed the spa on the 9th floor (open until 11.00pm) with towels and water for clients to use afterwards.
Close enough to the CBD by tram or car, and also close to St Kilda, with its restaurants and shops. Overall, I was very pleased with the package we were able to find for this hotel, but would stay even without the deal (although I would ALWAYS want the buffet included as it was excellent!). Thanks to the staff for their helpful and friendly attitude too!

Room Tip: Ask for a park view room, up high close to the 9th floor and the spa area, with the laundry faciliti...

Visited the Melbourne Parkview on a leisure trip. Everything about the place gave a very good first impression, The staff were professional. The room was clean and in fact cleaner than many more expensive hotels. Car parking is much more affordable than the CBD too. My rate included breakfast and the buffet was always fresh and well stocked. Transport into the CBD is a short ride away on one of the frequent trams that pass the hotel.
I travel frequently on business and I will happily recommend this property to my colleagues for business in Melbourne.

Stayed for two nights on a business trip. It has all the amenities you expect from a standard business hotel. Courteous and helpful staff, reasonably sized rooms, standard service, in house restaurants, fast lifts, modern outfit, comfy beds, quiet etc. Its close to tram but its on St Kilda Road. If you are coming back from town on a Friday arvo, you could get stuck in traffic.

Nothing spectacular about this hotel but you are a no fuss traveller that goes by a certain standard, this hotel will serve you just fine.

Room Tip: Stay in the upper levels for better natural lighting in your rooms.

Booked this hotel for a few nights when I was in business in Melbourne.

Hotel is situated in a nice quite area just outside the capital, but is only a short tram journey from the centre of Melbourne, max 15 minutes. It is also on the tram route to St Kilda which is another nice place to visit, if you have a chance.

The room was very big with lots of space, including a separate dressing area, and small area where tea making facilities are provided. The bed was very comfortable, and good quite air conditioning is provided.

The bathroom was also large with a great walk in shower, and lots of nice toiletries provided.

I never ate in the hotel due to work commitments, but the menu looked nice and the restaurant always looked busy.

The only real complaint I would have with the hotel is again the lack of free 24 hour Wi-Fi. The hotel does provide two hours free in any 24 hour period, but when you start to use it the time counts down, meaning when you return at night time, you have to purchase the Wi-Fi. As this hotel attracts a lot of business clients, why oh why do they not provide 24 hour free Wi-Fi.

I would use again, unless I found another hotel in this area that provides 24hr Wi-Fi, it really is that important to me. The hotel is also looking dated in some general areas, but it was always clean, and the staff were always very friendly.

We stayed here at the end of a trip along the GOR. The Parkview is all that you would expect from a city "business" hotel - largish rooms, clean, modern, quiet and comfortable and totally bland. You could be in any similar hotel in any city in the world.

Room Tip: Pick a city view. You get a pleasant view across a cricket ground into the CBD

Very impressed with this hotel. Staff on the whole friendly and welcoming of families. Room had plenty of room and was very clean. I'm yet to find a bed that I love in a hotel but the kind-size bed will have most people rapt. The spa / gym facilities were great (although a little too much chlorine in the spa which creates enormous fumes when the spa jets are on and lots and lots of foam).

Only serious criticism is one that the hotel can't change: the number of eateries nearby but that's being picky.

We'll definitely be back, very happy overall.
