“Great location”

I had read the reviews before I stayed at the mercure so was very nervous about what I would find when I arrived. I asked for a new refurbished room but there were none available but I was pleasantly surprised by my room, especially how clean and comfortable it was. It had everything I needed for my short stay and was in walking distance of my specialist doctor. I ordered room service which was absolutely delicious and breakfast the following morning was also very yummy. All the staff I spoke to were happy and friendly and I enjoyed my stay a lot. I will definitely be staying again when I come back in three months. (Hopefully I will get a new room - then I can review them as well!) Thank you!

The rooms are run down and stuffy. Had a nasty stench to them. Room service food is good. Had a late checkout to midday free of charge as another bonus.was in a good location for us and the beds were comfortable with an operating tv and pleasant shower... The staff were friendly and helpful

Stayed for one night, good to have opening windows, worried noise from road would keep us awake but just closed window and put air con on and it was fine. Not many negatives, room was comfy beds comfy, they have a small restaurant bar area, staff were friendly. The lifts were very noisy and rattled, could hear people talking in hallway and guests doors slamming shut. Had evening meal in restaurant which was ok and basic. Car park cheap at $12, had breakfast which was not spectacular but had basics such as hot and cold food, fruits and danish pastries. Ideal location as near childrens hospital and royal womens hospital.

Room Tip: Not near lift or stairs.

We stayed the night and it was not what we thought we were paying for!
Elevator is a hazard
Bathroom door wouldn't close
Windows were dirty
Vents had a nasty brown stain all over them
Bed was 2 singles with a mattress over it
All in all I would have been fine if we payed $50-70 for the night because you kinda expect so many faults but paying over $100 just isn't worth it folks!

I paid for a "deluxe room", as I had stayed at this hotel before so knew that it was a bit tired. Don't know why I bothered paying the extra. It was quite ordinary. The bathroom was not clean, the bed was comfortable, but the airconditioning was so noisy (and it was a really hot night) that sleep was irrelevant really.

Nice little place to stay on business - just north of the city so easy to get to. Rooms were nice enough. Had a great quiet sleep after a few beers and long day at the office. Friendly efficient service.
