The Westin is located at the heart of the central business district of Melbourne overlooking the city square and town hall. The rooms are spacious, and well appointed but a few details need attention such as broken door handles and no hotel directory in the room. I was told that I could view the directory on the TV but I never found it. The light controls are obscure but after a couple of days stay you will get the hang of it. Oh and be aware that the shower taps can be VERY stiff and turn anti clockwise. There is a gorgeous fitness centre in the basement with a great lap pool, steam room, spa and sauna. Avoid the rooms at the back of the hotel as they overlook an incredibly ugly concrete structure with a view of the air conditioning infrastructure of the building next door.
