Great service from reception, we felt welcomed from the beginning. We had a two bedroom apartment and although happy with the price we thought $25 per night for parking ( we stayed for a week) very expensive. Ask for your room to be away from the train tracks, the trains are very loud. Surprisingly our room was serviced daily and it was nice to return from a day of Melbourne shopping to a nice neat room. Thanks everybody apart from the noisy trains we enjoyed our stay!

Room Tip: Stay away from the train tracks!!

Good morning,
I'm glad you enjoyed your stay! We are in a great position to make the most of your concerts and sporting at Rod Laver Arena or the MCG. Thanks also for your other 'traveller tips' - I'm sure others will appreciate them.

Stayed for four nights in a studio room. The hotel was conveniently located on the edge of the city, with trams nearby and a short walk into the city. Staff were very accommodating, moving us to a quieter room away from the noise of the train line and organising airport transfers. While a little dated, the room was clean, functional and good value. The outdoor pool and spa were also a nice addition and heated even in winter.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the pool and away from the train lines if you are a light sleeper.

Stayed here for 4 nights for a short trip from Adelaide. Room very outdated - small tv with no DVD player and unable to connect hard drive via USB. Hard and uncomfortable bed and pillows - ask reception for softer pillows and they don't have any. No free wifi - $20 for 3gb and it's slow and will not connect all the time in our room. Shower very touchy.

Good location and good price.

Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback in regards to your stay. Happy to hear you enjoyed our location and received a good price, however obviously disappointing to read about the issues you had, especially in regards to Wi-Fi and the pillows. I apologise that you had issues in regards to slow Wi-Fi. We're not far away from receiving an upgrade to our Wi-Fi system, which should rectify this issue. Our current system is not always like this, but occasionally we do unfortunately have speed issues, which thankfully will be rectified in the near future. You may not have been aware that we have an internet kiosk in the hotel foyer which is free for guests to use and has USB connection & printing facilities. I do understand that this is not as convenient as Wi-Fi from the comfort of your room though. We appreciate your feedback in regards to the pillows and this is something we will investigate further. In regards to the room being out-dated, it sounds like you may have stayed in one of our studio rooms which have a planned refurbishment in the near future. Our 1 bedroom apartments received an update and refresh earlier this year, and the studios are next on the agenda. Please contact me if you consider staying with us again, and I'll ensure a much more enjoyable stay for your next visit. Thanks again for your feedback.
Kind regards,

What a great place to stay.My daughter & I had a very pleasant 2 days in a one bedroom apartment. Check in was efficient whilst our room was well appointed very clean & spacious. Our only complaint was the air conditioning vent in the bedroom was very noisy when it came on.We were on the 2ndfloor facing Jolimont road in a corner apartment so we did not have a problem with any train noise. We enjoyed the complimentary bottle of wine that came with our deal. Our luggage was stored for us by the charming Nancy at reception & the staff were all very friendly & obliging. We had dinner in the restaurant & can recommend the pork belly.Breakfast was a tasty buffet especially enjoyed the little iced coffee bottles. The hotel is close enough to walk to Bridge Road for some shopping & only just a short walk to the tram or train station to thecity.
We will certainly be back to Mantra next time we visit Melbourne. Many thanks for a lovely stay.

Room Tip: request a quiet room when booking

Right on the City edge this hotel offers great city views, great location near transport and is conveniently located near some of the city's best parks and gardens, river walks and the brilliant Bridge Road.
Clean, great heating (visited in the middle of Winter), good room service and amenities. On-site breakfast or do-it-yourself in the unit kitchen. I didn't use the gym as I walked along the glorious Yarra River via a footbridge and around the Birrarung Marr area. The pool is outdoors and too cold at this time of the year for a swim but overall a well equipt hotel.
For sports fans this would be ideal, a short walk to the tennis centre, MCG, Olympic Park etc and close to public transport or you could walk into the city or Richmond.
The staff were very helpful and we were able to leave our car in the car park after we checked out and then picked up our keys after lunch and some shopping in the City.
The only inconvenience was the noise from the train line that borders the hotel, a room closer to the Fitzroy Gardens side might be have been less noisy, ours faced the rail lines on one side!
Overall good value, comfortable, clean and very, very convenient.

Room Tip: Try to get a room away from the rail lines!

Hi Bronwyn, thank you very much for your feedback in regards to your stay with us. It sounds like you had a very satisfactory stay and enjoyed our location, service and facilities. You may not have realised our outdoor pool & spa are heated, but agree you would have to brave in the middle of a Melbourne winter. It's good to hear you enjoyed the hotel & the beautiful surrounds; we look forward to welcoming you back next time you're in Melbourne. Thanks again for your feedback.

It's getting a little old and tired, no free wifi, small flat screen TV not HD and the movie channel refused to work and very noisy if your room faces the train and the bridge. That said the unit is a great size, very large bathroom and functional kitchen. Location wise there is not much in the immediate vicinity although the city is only a 15 minute easy walk along the bridge and you are in federation Square. the MCG and Tennis Centre are only 5 minutes walk away. I stayed for one night only as was in Melbourne on business and scored a great deal $150 including buffet breakfast, bottle of wine and late check out. I called in about 10am primarily to leave my bag so as I did not have to carry it to all my meetings and as my room was ready they let me check in straight away which was good to be able to hang up clothes for the following day. Buffet breakfast was the usual hotel affair but more than adequate (although would have loved a decent coffee). Staff were very friendly and obliging, looking after my bag, calling taxis and the like. I'm sure the prices are more if there is something on in the sporting precinct, but if you can deal with the train noise and the noise from the bridge that is fitted with some sort of audio system (never had time to check out what it was all about) then exceptional value can be had.

Room Tip: Don't get a room facing the train line. If you are staying a while get your food supplies before...

Thank you for the feedback in regards to your stay with us. It's great to read that you enjoyed most aspects of your stay. The location obviously suited your needs, and as you say it's only a short stroll to the CBD, or an even shorter stroll to the closest tram stop. I apologise that you had issues with the movie system during your stay, and the Wi-Fi charge is something that's definitely being looked at for the future. We do have free internet available in our foyer which is accessible for all guests to use, but I understand that it's not as convenient as the Wi-Fi. It was good to hear that you received great service during your stay, and it sounds like you also enjoyed the Boundary Line Bar & Kitchen. Please contact us directly when you're back in Melbourne, we would love to allocate a quieter room for you next time. Thanks again for your feedback.
