“Best stay ever”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 February 2014

The receptionist booking could not be more helpful when asking for an upgrade. She seemed to go out of her way for us. "very friendly" great start to the weekend stay.
Couldn't ask for anything more.
On departure the same deal staff asking if we were happy with our room etc, making sure we were comfortable at all times.

thank you all

Athena J Cranbourne

We booked the Windsor Suite for the night of our Wedding as we heard so many great things about it from family and friends, we will also definitely consider coming back for our anniversaries. They allowed us to take Wedding Photographs in our Suite and around the Hotel(inside and outside) as we had booked a room there. Our photographer and videographer were both so excited about shooting here. The venue is absolutely beautiful and the architecture is amazing! We cannot fault anything with the Windsor, we loved everything about it!

Not only where we upgraded after we mentioned it was my partner's birthday but I then the front desk slipped a signed birthday card under our room door.
We had no need to ask for anything (although I am sure if we did we would have certainly received it) because the staff thought of everything before we did.
The wonderful service started from the moment we were met at the front door and continued as we wandered up to our room past the housekeeping staff who smiled and chatted to us.
Overall we cannot ever imagine staying anywhere else! Thank you for making the weekend completely joyful!

Dear Mr T…Richard,

I must admit with some suspected bias that I do concur with your headline.

The Windsor is not the Grand dame on Spring Street without the amazing group of men and women serving the guests who stay and visit.

So glad to hear that your weekends stay was so joyful.

Your review will be a joy to read for our staff. Thank you.

Yours sincerely,

David

We had a fantastic stay at this beautiful hotel due to the exceptional level of customer care we received from their staff members. We had a booking for a 2 night stay but unfortunately due to our flight being cancelled from the recent ash clouds over Indonesia we arrived a day late at 5am the next morning. Not only did the staff member on reception let us check into our room (even though we were hours before the normal check-in time), he also allowed us to keep our voucher for the previous night we had missed to use for a future date. Can't tell you how much we appreciated this together with his warm welcome after hours of travelling and delays....I would have hugged the guy if I hadnt of been so tired (-: After some much needed sleep we had dinner in the hotel restaurant that evening and the food and staff were again just surperb. Thanks to all the staff for such a wonderful stay......can't wait to come back again! (-:

Dear Sir and Madam…Esther and David,

The team come to work with one thing in mind…to leave guests with great memories of their stay.

Whilst hugging of staff is not encouraged, and your restraint is understandable, your most kind and generous words are really appreciated.

We can’t wait for you both to return.

Yours sincerely,

David

We spent our wedding night at The Windsor 25 years ago and decided to be sentimental and celebrate our anniversary there. What a great decision. We were upgraded to The Duke of Windsor suite with a bottle of champagne chilling on our arrival, along with a card of congratulations signed by some of the staff. Very nice touch.

Dear Mr B…Michael,

A Silver Wedding Anniversary is a moment of celebration and your choice of returning to The Windsor after spending your wedding night here 25 years ago meant that the day in 1989 had been particularly special.

Glad to hear that more great Windsor memories are now with you both and hoping to have the opportunity of being part of many more in the future.

Congratulations once again.

Yours sincerely,

David

We celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary, 18/2/14, in our beautiful suite, "The James Munro". It was truly amazing with stunning views onto Spring Street, through to Parliament House & beyond. it included a gorgeous dining room, chilled champagne awaiting our arrival, a lounge room, 2 bedrooms and bathroom. Simply stunning! the staff were most friendly & congratulatory to us right from the moment we arrived until our departure the following day. Nothing was too much trouble for these professionals, congratulations.

Dear Mr A…John,

Perfect. Congratulations once again to you both.

The James Munro suite is one of our seven Victorian Suites all overlooking Spring Street and Parliament House to the North East. With the number 307 the suite is named after Victoria’s 15th Premier James Munro who purchased the hotel in 1886 enlarging it to the heritage building you see today. Sir James famously set the hotel’s liquor license on fire – an act that the temperance leaning hotel owner would come to regret.

We’ll leave the James Munro story there – suffice to say the liquor license returned whilst gin was served in tea pots in the intervening years!

Hoping to welcome you both back for many Anniversaries to come….the French champagne will be in a bottle and on ice.

Yours sincerely,

David
