“Perfect location and a great price for the CBD”
Reviewed 13 December 2011

Wonderful location on Little Collins Street in the heart of the city. We paid $178.00 NZ for the Saturday night and $151.00 NZ per night for Sunday & Monday. Stayed in a Heritage room, nonsmoking. Queen size bed and great airconditioning. We asked for both early checkin (11am) and requested a quiet room (room 2109) both requests were given. We would stay again because was quiet, airconditioned, great shower temperture & flow, nice hotel bar, used the laundry $8.00 AU and internet $3.00 AU for 30 minutes. Got the skybus to airport $30.00 AU for a couple and takes 1 hour. Trams are $7.00 AU a day. Booked through check-in.com.au - heritage long stay deal, min 3 day stay. Would definitely stay again when next in Melbourne.

I took my family for a holiday in Melbourne and stayed for a week at this hotel. We stayed in 2 rooms - 1 was king size + 1 single bed, while the other was 2 single beds.Although requested for the 2 rooms to be close by, but since it was fully booked, the rooms were apart - still on the same floor. We stayed on the 8th floor, which I believe was newly renovated.
The 1st room was huge, and clean. The items were new, and the toilet was also good. The shower had plenty of hot water with good pressure. The 2nd room, was a bit cramped, but still it was adequate. The cupboards in both room were a bit too small. Apart from that, it was nice.
The location was superb. It is located right in the middle of Melbourne CBD, within walking distance to Flinders Street train station - you can catch the free tram (No 35) to go around the CBD. There are plenty of shopping on Swanston Street. If you wish to travel on tram, you can get the tram ticket at its outlet by the City Hall, which is about 100m from the hotel.
The original block of the hotel is only up to the 7th floor, so to get to the 8th and 9th floor, which is at another wing, you need to get to the 7th floor, and make your way down the corridor to get to elevator to go to the 8th and 9th floor. The rooms on the original block is a bit old, and small, with window type air cond. Our rooms have centralised aircond.
Although we arrived at the hotel about 3am, checked in was quick ... but we had to bring our bags to the rooms ourselves. Some of the staff, especially those at the front desk need to be more helpful, and perhaps smile a bit more. On one occasion, when I requested for the 2nd room to be closer to the 1st room, the reply was a bit letdown.
Nothing great about the hotel, except that the location was good.

Room Tip: Choose rooms on the 8th and 9th floor on the new block - there are new and much better than those on...

We booked a 3 night stay staying in a family room that accommodates 4 people. The 1st night we had to move rooms 3 times. The air-conditioner broke and made a loud clunking noise and we could not sleep. I went and informed reception at 12.30am and they said the only thing they could do was move us to another room. The second room stunk so badly of cigarette smoke we felt like we had slept in an ashtray. I went to reception in the morning after not having slept all night and the nly other option to get a clean and quiet room was to pay another $60.00. Give this hotel a big miss!!!!

We often stay at the Victoria Hotel and was really suprised with the upgrade to their new apartment accommodation. The apartment is well laid out ant the bedroom and bathroom exceeded our expectations. The large 2 person spa was very clean as was the whole apartment. The accommodation really made our stay in Melbourne more enjoyable. Will definetly be going back to the Victoria Hotel for more weekend stays.

Have stayed at other All Seasons hotels elsewhere and this is a good standard in comparison.

My heritage queen room was good albeit VERY snug. It's ok for one but could be a bit small for a couple.

The hotel is in two sections. The section where the lifts are is unrenovated. That is also very obviously the smoking section. It's not a welcoming path to the renovated section.

As a frequent visitor to Melbourne, I know that there is much better for this price. There is also a lot worse that are more expensive. So do a bit of research and shop around.

For a basic hotel, heritage rooms are clean. Being renovated, they have a nice fresh feel. Bathrooms are small but modern and clean. Shower has good pressure and hot water.

Thankyou so much for our happy stay on 30 th Nov 2011,we have not stayed at The Victoria Hotel for over 30 years, when we used to bring our two young sons to the city every Easter from the country to give them a taste of The City, so we booked in for our 43rd wedding anniversary, as we were going to see "Love Never Dies" and it is so convenient to the Regent, what a lovely surprise on checking in with Brett to be given an upgrade.Having been in the service industry for 50 years[ and always looking for service that blows you away] we were impressed with every level of service, and yes we would stay again and have already spoken to friends about our experience. We have been members of Accor and AVC for some years and not every experience has been favourable, so thankyou once again. My very first experience of The Victoria was a holiday from Adelaide with my parents when i was 10 which was , dare i say 55 yrs ago!!!!!! and there was a smorgasboard, it was my first and I have never forgotten it.planning to bring another 4 family members in to stay with us in march and really looking forward to our stay at this little gem in the heart of the city.

Very Impressed with the hospitality the frendlinesss and co-operation of the staff and the location made accsessing our various venues very easy. Whilst the hotel is obviously an older building it has been tastefully renovated . The on site car parking is great and if it is at capacity they have an arrangement with a local car park company about 60 metres up the street. We had breakfast each morning at Alices and with a bar on the premises it made the whole package very enjoyable.
