My partner and I stayed at the Crown Towers for two nights while visiting Melbourne. We stayed in a deluxe king suite, which was very spacious and modern. The hotel itself, from the grand entrance upwards is beautiful! The customer service, in all aspects, could not be faulted. Just what we needed for a weekend away. Only one tip, be aware, we had to pay a $200 surcharge (which is put back into your account at the end of the trip) apon arrival to the hotel, which we were quite surprised about as it's not stated on any booking websites or Crown information that you will have to do so. Only a small detail, but that $200 would've come in handy for spending during our holiday. A perfect holiday otherwise!

Great value for a 5 star hotel right in the middle of such a beautiful city. Everything seems to be just right about this place especially the fact that everything that accounts for entertainment is right then and there whether it be casino, watching a movie or eating a late night snack. The conservatory has a great buffet breakfast to offer in the morning before you get out to sightsee or enjoy the rest of the day at the casino. Enjoyed the stay and would love to go back soon.

We booked a five night getaway from our home in the Hunter Valley, and thought we would spend a bit more that we normally do to treat ourselves.

Our first impressions of the Hotel were good. The room was very clean and spacious, with everything you would expect from a 5 star residence.

However, our first problem was when we came back to our room on the second night at 11.00 p.m. and found that our TV wasn't working. No problem. You can live without a TV for one night. It was reported the next morning and the TV was replaced by the following evening whilst we were out sightseeing in Melbourne during the day.

The next night, we again went to bed at 11.00 p.m. and fell asleep. However, our neighbours in the adjoining room came in (from the Casino?) at 2,00 a.m. making so much noise that they woke us up chatting away very loudly for a long time. Again, not the end of the world.

The final evening before the morning of our departure, we came back to our room at 10.00 p.m. (on a non smoking floor) and smelled the overpowering smell of cigarette smoke in the hallway outside our room. (We are non-smokers, and specifically requested a non-smoking floor.) When we reported this smell on the morning of check-out, the young lady at reception said that we should have reported it at the time that it happened, and that they could have moved us or the offending guest, and that she was aware of the offending guest in the adjoining room having caused problems for them before. Unfortunately, it was a little bit too late for us, and we left there feeling that we had been overcharged for what we paid for.

I guess that it was our fault for checking into a casino hotel where, let's face it, the majority of the guests do smoke. However, this was the final straw for us, and I don't think that we will be back there in a hurry.

A King Deluxe room was paid for in advance for my birthday before we arrived. As soon as we began to check in the lovely and very attentive receptionist had told us that we had been upgraded to a Studio Room on the 19th Level with a beautiful view of the Yarra (no charge)!

Stepped into the room and there was our wonderful view of Melbourne. Soon came a complimentary bottle of vintage champaign and chocolates. Amazing bathroom had everything you could ever wish for - finding out how all the taps worked was a bit tricky but we were a little inexperienced. Our room was down the hall, so there was no noise to disturb us.
Later in the night we needed some bandaids and room service brought them up within a matter of minutes.

All night the staff around the hotel helped us to the elevators and were more than willing to guide us to the nearest eateries and clubs.

Ate at the Conservatory for breakfast with the full buffet and could barely move afterward but the setting was exquisite and all the staff so very helpful and polite.
At check-out the receptionist offered for our luggage to be stored for the rest of the day while lovely piano played in the foyer.

Amazing night - will be very, very hard to top!

Room Tip: Higher levels = amazing view Choose the River View!

Fabulous stay at a fabulous hotel I was expecting to not like very much. Customer service outstanding at each point along the way, from the greeting as you arrive, reception, maintenance and room service. The room service nasi goreng was outstanding, and it arrived so quickly. A plus!

As always, this hotel won't disappoint. They are keeping their standars high and attention to detail is obvious wherever you look.
Great professional service, easy and fast check-in, check- out. Great concierge service as well.
Our room on 15th floor had a beautiful city/river views. Great bed with wonderful linen and plenty of pillows. Also nice sitting area next to the floor to ceiling window so you can sit there with a glass of wine and enjoy the view.
Large wonderful bathroom with bath and a separate shower. You can watch TV while having a bath. Lots of little extras as shampoo, shower gel, soaps, body moisturiser and more. Great king size soft towels.
Night gowns and slippers provided for your comfort.
Cleanliness 9/10 - very dusty vase spoiled 10/10 :(
I also couldn't find a pen on the desk but it was delivered straight away after the request.
Couldn't fault anything else really, everything else was to our expectations.
And now a buffet breakfast at Conservatory. We are regulars at this restaurant, we like to come for lunch occasionally. However, the service have changed over the years and unfortunately it changed for the worse. We were seated at lovely table at the window, overlooking Yarra River. Then we sat there for about 10 minutes, waiting for somebody to come to serve us coffee. There was also butter missing on our table. At the end I approached a lady waitress and asked if we please could have some coffee and butter. I ordered 2 flat whites and after about good 5 minutes coffees finally arrived. After some time we requested another 2 flat whites and we were told that for the second coffee we have to pay, only first coffee is at no charge. We were in shock. We travel constantly and we always stay at 4 and 5 star hotels and NEVER EVER BEFORE, AT ANY HOTEL, were we asked to pay for a coffee during the breakfast. There were always choices between already prepared black coffee in jugs or we could order cappuccino, latte or whatever else AT NO ADDITIONAL COST!! Even at Conservatory in the past we never have to pay for it but this days is different. We think it's disgusting and appalling that hotel guests, who are already paying for an expensive buffet breakfast, have to pay another $6 per coffee in addition to that. We were so upset after we received the bill for $12 for 2 small cups of coffee ( not to mention that half of the cup was filled with froth instead of coffee ) that we complained to the manager and after a long discussion, at the end we didn't have to pay for the coffees. So please be aware of that before you order a coffee from coffee machine!
The food itself was ok, good selection and a lot of variety. Fried eggs (already made) were only slightly warm, bacon was cold, mushrooms slightly warm as well.
And now service: service was really slow, even that there was not too many guests early on Monday morning. Funny thing was that they cleared the big plates from the table but all other small plates, glasses and coffee cups were left on the table until we left. We just pushed them all on the other end of the table, nobody really cared or paid attention to that.
So hotel itself is lovely and we will definitely come back again but the Conservatory is out of question for us in the future. It's an expensive breakfast with poor service and just thinking about how they want to charge you $6 for a small cup of coffee, in addition to what you are already paying for buffet breakfast, makes me sick. There are plenty of other ( much cheaper ) options of breakfast at Crown Casino so that's where we're going to go next time.
