Fantastic old charm hotel, but it's looking rather dated and badly in need of a renovation/refurbishment. Carpet was torn at parts and furniture looked like antiques. Comfy bed though. Ventilation vents in the bathroom looked like they haven't been cleaned for while and were full of dust bunnies. Had to look away while I was showering :P

Excellent service and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

As acommodation in Melbourne can be expensive during the Australian Open tennis, the Grand Hotel (located at the west of the Melbourne CBD) can be a good value alternative. Rooms are spacious, and the foyer and restaurant have a more intimate atmosphere than you would have in larger hotels. The bathroom is my room needed some repairs and maintenance, but hotel maintenance was able to address an immediate problem with the shower door promptly.

Have been staying here for the last 6 years with friends for The Grand Prix and shopping.

Hotel is in a great location however for the price per night needs a huge upgrade.I don't think they have repaired anything within the 6 years we have been there!

Fabulous large beds and top of the range bedding.

The up side is the rooms are large apartment style on two levels which makes them really roomy.Dont get a room on the train side.
