Great location and quirky building. The loft rooms are a nice change from the standard hotel room and have a lot of space including a kitchen with a Nespresso. I had great room service (breakfast) which was quick and delicious.
No complaints!

This hotel is in a very big building which was a former Railways Administration Building. I stayed here a few years back & there was an entrance at the opposite end of the building to the reception area which you could use after checking in. This time there was no entrance, apparently because the permanent residents (several floors are used as private residences) objected. So having been allocated a room at the opposite end of the hotel, one had a very long walk to & from the room. Given the very slow lift you needed to allow 5-10 minutes to make the trip. Couldn't quite work out why they had a 2 quilts over the bed, presumably to sleep on one & the other to put over you. Made it a very warm nights sleep.
Other than that the room & bed was comfortable, staff were pleasant & helpful & the stay was ok.

Room Tip: request a room on the Spencer Street side otherwise you will hear some train noise.

Dear Marts60,

Thank-you for the review. The corridors are long, but we happily take requests for rooms closer to the lifts if this is an issue for you. We don't actually have two quilts on the bed - one is a luxury mattress topper under the bottom sheet. Our guests love this added feature to our king size beds. We can always remove it if the bed is too soft.
Thanks again for your time and comments.

Best Regards,
Jane

Lovely reception staff, very friendly & helpful! Fantastic building, a trip back in time. Room service & food supurb:) The rooms were great, but will need an update in the near future. Downfall was the mass of cobwebs in the 'living room':(
