Stayed at the Rendezvous Hotel on a Friday and Saturday evening. One night used a Scoopon Voucher which had been given to us us a gift and we opted to pay for another night.
First I would like to say that the Scoopon voucher represented great value. A Deluxe Room with breakfast plus 2 x vouchers for drinks in the restaurant or bar plus a $20 voucher to be used at a local spa. The breakfast in the Grill was lovely with a great selection to choose from.

On arrival we were upgraded to a 'Commerce' room which was a pleasant surprise and we were allowed to have a late 1pm check-out on the Sunday. The front desk were pleasant and informative if not a little 'going through the motions'.

On entrance to our room we were stunned at how tiny the room was. I only wonder what size the standard 'Deluxe' room was. Well appointed with an LCD wall mounted television and desk the room was also smart and functional, just tiny!

Lovely modern bathroom with French Connection toiletries my only complaint here would be the lack of towels, impractical glass shower screen which did not extend far enough to stop water splashing everywhere and the worlds smallest vanity. Which for two ladies proved a problem, I had to leave my toiletries bag and it's contents on the floor of the bathroom.

The location is handy to Southbank with quick access via the underpass at Flinders Street Station, the view from our room? A wedge of the Crown Casino could be seen but there also was a car park outside our window (which I think would be noisy on a week day). The Immigration Museum is also just one block to the right as you leave the hotel.

We had trouble with the airconditioning (we cooked the first night) which fortunately was resolved enough by the second night that we did not feel we were sleeping in a sauna. We also had trouble with the key cards which gave access to the room on a couple of occasions which resulted in reception staff coming to the room and open it.

The Concierge staff were very helpful with directions and our online check-in for our flight home.

Overall our stay at The Rendezvous was ok but I do not think that an offer like the one we purchased from Scoopon would be enough enticement for us to return. If room size is not an issue you could do worse.

the Rendezvous hotel is a secret but smartly finished and presented hotel opposite Flinders Street station. Valet car Parking is a definite plus. Rooms overlooking the road are subject to current construction and railway noise as would any hotel room in Melbourne. the ambience was breathtaking and food delicious.

We stayed overnight with their 'Romantic Luxe' package. It was A$ 315.

Along with accommodation (we were upgraded at no cost upon arrival), the package included a three course meal for two and a full buffet breakfast. The food was great. The only criticism is that we had to select from a limited menu for dinner (this would not have been an issue had we have known about it prior to booking). The problem was that a number of other couples were also told about the limited menu after being seated. It sort of dampened the atmosphere.

That aside, the meal was lovely and the buffet breakfast was diverse, tasty and plentiful.

The room we stayed in was very clean and adequate. It was also quiet - which was good. The bed was comfortable and the view was quite good.

The hotel staff were very friendly.

A good choice for the evening.

On check in we were advised that we had been upgraded, which did beg the question at the time what would the original room have been like as the upgrade seemed small and had no view. That said it had clearly been tastefully refurbished, was neatly kitted out and good use had been made of the limited space available. The room and hotel per se was also incredibly clean and staffed with helpful and obliging staff. The location really couldn't be bettered in respect of accessing the whole of Melbourne, either on foot or by transport. By way of a bonus England go 2-1 up in the series and retain the Ashes :-)

We booked this hotel online for a short trip to Melbourne for the F1, stayed 3 nights. Overall we were satisfied with our experience. We arrived at the hotel in the morning, not expecting to be able to check in, but we were told our room was available, great. Our room was on the top floor and clearly in the 'un-renovated' part of the Hotel. We were far from happy with this room. It was very fun down, stains on the carpet and facing the noisy train station etc. We asked the front desk to be shifted to a newly renovated room, they were very helpful and agreed to 'upgrade' us for no charge. We were very happy with the renovated room on the 2nd floor. Room was service daily, very clean and tidy and nicely furnished.

Room Tip: If you are checking into this hotel, make sure you

My mother and myself wanted to stay in a nice motel with a little class and some room to move. What a perfect place to stay. So central, exactly opposite Flinders St. Our room was the bridal suite, not too expensive, huge ceilings with twin beds, a beautiful balcony and lounge room. Fresh air in the city,a rarity. The room was beautifully clean, and well stocked. The hotel itself is extremely grand. The service was impecible. The staff were so welcoming. We called for room service twice and got quick service. We had cooked breakfasts sent to our room. Couldnt hear anyone next door as the room was so huge. I would recommend this motel and this room to anyone who is coming to stay in Melbourne. We had such a lovely stay we are returning soon.

Room Tip: Room 230,bridal suite for a little bit extra

We booked this hotel on a scoopon deal, booking was easy. Any communication I had with the hotel via e-mail was answered promptly.
Location was great - main plus for this hotel.
We checked in on a Friday evening when place was rather busy, and as we were booking in with friends asked if we could get rooms on same floor at least - this wasn't possible and ended up on top and bottom floor.
Staff were a mixed bag, some polite, others a little rude and obiously not coping with how busy they were.
We ended up on First floor and as soon as we stepped in our first thoughts were - small and noisy - I knew I wouldn't sleep well with the street noise, also scaffolding out the window was a put off. I asked for a room change which was done with no fuss and ended up on the 4th floor (was internal rather than street view) - and got a slightly bigger new room. Our friends got a room on the 9th floor and even though the view was nice, it was an older room with a old TV (we had a flat screen on the wall). Their bathroom was a shower in a bath, we had a more modern bathroom with a rain shower.
Breakfast was a good selection, and would recommend a visit to the bar on the 1st floor - friendly bar staff, knew history of hotel, and was the most engaging of all staff encountered.
Good if you want to be close to everything - but not a hotel to stay a while.

Room Tip: Ask politely if not happy with the room you get.
