I wanted to be be budget conscious when I had 2 days in Melbourne. I also wanted to be in the city for the sake of getting around through the evening - Causeway fit that basic criteria. I wasn't expecting brilliant, just good.
The location couldn't be better, an entrance of a quaint arcade. The check-in was simple and in walking into my room it was a little larger than expected, looking clean, neat and comfortable. On closer inspection, the seats are old with fraying fabric, and the bathroom has discoloured grout that I fear was from mold. The bathroom in general needs work - it was presentable, but shower curtains should be a thing of the past the shower had average pressure.
The bed was a king configuration of 2 singles - meaning that the join in the middle isn't that comfortable and the pillows are too soft for my liking. I did sleep well though.
Fresh apples were provided as complementary, which is a nice touch when travelling.
If budget was a concern when I come down next, I may rebook, but I'll also be checking my other options.More
