Degraves is basically a lane way full of cafés and bars. It feels grungy and is fun. I don't think you would call it a tourist attraction as it takes only a few minutes to walk through. But if you're heading between Flinders and Bourke why not wind your way through these lanes - Desgraves, Central Place and the Block - to get a really varied view of Melbourne.

Its always busy and very crowded at times. Love it though. Gotta get a baguette from the little place with the green sign. Some great coffee from a number of spots as well

In winter, Degraves Street can be wet and cold, but there are gas heaters for outside diners. There's a great choice of places to eat. A favourite of mine is Seasalt, where the fish and chips, and the sushi, are really good.

Shops are small and personal. There are lovely pieces of jewellery in one, and goodies to eat that are made in Melbourne in another. It's a nice place to stroll, if you don't mind crowds.

Really enjoyed this area and found quaint coffee shops/bistros, also good to head there for dinner - lots of options.

This lane way was recommended to us by multiple staff at our hotel, friends who had visited Melbourne multiple times and even Melbourne locals. It did not disappoint!!!! The coffee is great, meals are reasonably priced, location is ideal - very central and easy to get to, a great mix of cuisines, quality meals and overall a relaxed atmosphere. It was all pretty accessible too with no cobble stone footpaths. Great photo opportunity with all the signs above too. We loved the pace, service and food as much we ate here multiple times throughout of 4 day stay! Can't wait to return and retry some restaurants and venture further down this street for new eateries.
