Good service, excellent high quality dishes - albeit smallish serves - I recommend dining here if you have plenty of time to nibble small delectable treats with a nice Pinot Gris as you soak up the classic Melbourne riverside ambience - a wonderful experience... If you are wanting one solid filling main meal instead, not here....Sake deserves a special slow eating evening to really experience the brilliance from their kitchen...popcorn prawns, tempura mushrooms - superb

The location is great ... lots of people watching. The food is exceptional. The portions are relatively small, but every morsel is delicious. The outdoor setting which is always kept warm with heaters and blankets makes it easy to enjoy this river side eatery.

After a hard day at work six of us went for dinner. Great service, excellent food. We skipped the banquet and selected a range of plates to share. The prawn dumplings, popcorn prawn, chicken terriyaki and barramundi were standouts, all perfectly cooked and melt in the mouth dumplings. Just the right mix of chillis and spices.

We have been to this Restaurant twice in a month. the first time we felt rushed and we must have ordered poorly. This time we took a set menu option and the food was fantastic. Our first few mixed drinks were slow which was exactly what happened the first time, but when we got to the sake the staff where much more attentive. Based on this experience we will be back but only to order a set menu option.

The restaurant is set in spectacular surrounds on the South bank of the Yarra River in the Hamer Concert Hall. Inside, seating is also available in private booths, while outside, there are glass screens and canopies.

The food could be described as Japanese meets French. French as in 'service en confusion', petit servings and noble pricing.

Teriyaki chicken was wonderful, kept tender and moist with the meat attached to the bone.
The Panko rice balls were lovely and crunchy and not oily at all.
Chatham Island Blue Cod steam a little too much.
The Wasabi and Pepper Vegetables were fresh and crisp. The sauce hadn't been homogenised properly as there were clumps of wasabi that overpowered, the effect similar to biting into a whole chilli.

Service was wonderful and friendly. All our foibles attended to.

The bathrooms need attending to with greater detail: no soap, clogged basins and messy floors.
