This hotel is located opposite Flagstaff Park which is located on the perimeter of the CBD 'grid'. Didn't check into the hotel until 9.30pm at night, was recommended by reception to go to Hardware Lane where it won't be hard to get a late night meal. They were correct - there were people every where. A 10min walk from the hotel with heaps of restaurant options.
The room was large, clean and modern. A great rain head shower! Kitchenette was good, but we didn't need to us it. A large bed, which was extremely hard and uncomfortable. It seems that all Oaks beds are the same. If you want a bed that cuddles you when you sleep, or at least gives you a decent night's sleep, don't book an Oaks. It's a shame that the bed was so bad, because the room/hotel otherwise was good.
Location wasn't too bad. A walk to Flinder's Lane is approx 20mins. Ideally it would have been great to be closer to the action, however for the price of the room it was fine. There is also the free 'City Circle' tram outside the door of the hotel which is helpful. Would I stay again? No, only due to the bed though.More
