“Positive surprise”
Reviewed 7 June 2014

Didn't expect finding the interior that interesting but it was. Didn't know it was free either but the guide on the free Fed Square tour recommended to me to go. At the moment there's an exhibition with sculputures by Inge King which is very impressive. However, I was fascinated the most the exhibition about the indigenous art, it's stunning and beautiful. Really worth having a look at.

“David McDiarmid: Highly Recommended”
Reviewed 6 June 2014

We really enjoyed the David McDiarmid exhibition on gay culture and art in Australia. It's running till Aug 31 so do check it out. No photography or videoing permitted though.

“Every overseas visitor needs to see this gallery”
Reviewed 28 May 2014

This is a great repository of some significant Australian art. The permanent exhibit's give an overseas visitor an excellent history lesson and an understanding of Australia's relationship with the land, aborigines and Europe. In about an hour you can see how a distant country grew up culturally and artistically. I love this collection

Be sure to check out the temporary exhibits as there is always some good to see.

“Do go”
Reviewed 28 May 2014

Very good exhibits and ever changing in some galleries keeps the interest up.The present Fashion Detective exhibit is very interesting, with stories told about the clothes displayed. Unfortunately the volume is quite low and over taken by a video of Sherlock Holmes. This has been mentioned to management and hopefully will be rectified. Also a pity that more of their 8500 collection of clothes are not on display. Hope this will happen at a later date. The permanent exhibits are also good to show to visitors and start young peoples interest in visiting galleries.
