Conveniently located in the heart of Chinatown, close to Melbourne's centre.
Location is remarkably quiet, and a good night's sleep was possible, especially as the bed was very nice.
The apartment is a bit dated, but perfectly adequate.

Stayed for three nights at Punthill Little Bourke and can only recommend it to other travellers. Great value for money as far as I'm concerned and an excellent mid city location to clinch the deal. We booked a two bedroom apartment and apart from it being two separate one bedroom apartments attached by an entry cove I have no major complaints. They are roomy, quiet to external noise and have the best, possibly too good water pressure, the best I've encountered for some time. The accommodation is less than two blocks from the Bourke Street Mall and within the Chinatown area if you love Asian food although Mediterranean and other food is readily available. Complaints would be that our spa bath was so large that the toilet was left to occupy about 1% of bathroom space. Our room a/c had a thermostat with no idea that it was cold and only heated the room sporadically, the other room was fine. But to reiterate, value for money and location, location. Also kudos to the staff for great and friendly service.

We stayed four nights here and were pleased with our choice. We got a great "hot deal" which made it excellent value. The apartments are clean and modern and well apointed. We were a bit concerned there might be noise due to the close location to Little Bourke St but had no problems even on Fri night. We would definitely stay here again.

Stayed three times alway clean, light and offering all we need, in a compact but very comfortable modern layout. It is centrally located for excellent eating in chiinatown and the entertainment precinct.

Recently stayed here with two friends (a married couple) in a two bedroom apartment. Set up was just great for us, I had my separate space but we could flow back and forward between rooms when required. Rooms were clean and tidy, the couch/settee had a hole in it and the stuffing was sticking out but it wasn't a deal breaker. Couldn't fault the location, very handy to theatres and shopping. Chinatown was an assault on the senses when the food smells filled the air. Always plenty of people out and about at night so great to wonder around and get amongst it. Short walk to Exhibition Square and Flinders Station. Our rooms were very quiet also which was a new experience for me having stayed in several other properties in Melbourne which have been noisey, usually in the early morning - I had come with earplus at the ready and didn't need them. Will definitately stay there again. There was no view out either of our room windows but that didn't bother us we were just glad it was quiet. The weather was a bit cold and it rained so occasionally we came back to the rooms cold and wet, particularly at night, but the AVS was very effective in warming the rooms quickly if required.

Short version: located in Chinatown, Quite modern and functional. Friendly staff. Go for a longer stay. No parking.

Long version: Located near the theatre end of Chinatown, it's nicely situated. Close to restaurant and shops but not too close to the traffic on Russel street.
New-ish building with nice well thought out rooms. Due to a slight mix up, I've seen both the one bedroom and the studio. The one bed room is pretty bigbut the studio wasn't bad either. If it's the first time in Melbourne for you, the studio is perfect since it's effectively an apartment, you've got cooking facilities and the markets aren't too far away. There's a washing machine in the room and alaundrette near by for the dry. The one bed room just means you've got a better view and more space.

Staff was very professional and friendly.

I haven't really got anything negative to say about it. The only one really is if you're there for a road trip, parking is going to be a problem. There's none and parking regulations in Melbourne requires you to study the signs for 5 minutes before you actually park.

Room Tip: As a couple, and provided you don't have a lot with you, the studio would be fine, especially if...

I stay here whenever in Melbourne. Close to everything, and very good value for money. I stayed in a one-bedroom spa apartment during Melbourne Gift Fair at $175 a night, and I was well pleased. Also very happy with the cleaning and reception staff. Another lovely stay.
