Fantastic if you are going to Melbourne and don't want to pay mega $$ for a room you won't spend much time in. Easy parking as there is also a parking complex across the road.

Didn't use any of the common rooms although looked in the cinema room. FILTHY! You could get pregnant off the smell of that room alone. Actually the whole first floor was filth.

We stayed in the King Delux Room. Room was nice size, clean, tidy neat little ensuite. Ensuite not the cleanest thing but WAY better than the share bathroom and toilet.

We had a room on the third floor over looking A'Beckett street. We got back to from our evening out around 3am backpackers was quite although we were kept awake by all the noises that happened in the street below as the walls were paper thin. Also the pillows smelt kinda weird need a fabric softener or something to freshen them up.

All in all wasn't that bad apart from the noise that kept us awake.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that is further back from the street.

Would I stay here again ? Hmmm probably not, the staff are ok but the place it self is pretty average, nothing to talk about really. I didn't realise how cold Melbourne got best. Buy some warm clothes if your coming here this time of year brrrr.

Staff are friendly and helpful, rooms are simple and beds are clean, bathrooms are alright, and WiFi worked everywhere, but was sometimes on and off. The only downside to this place is the terribly tiny kitchen and how loud and rowdy it gets at night while you're trying to sleep

Rooms are cramped and stuffy, no aircon. Showers REEKED of cleaning product and it seemed as though the ventilation for the ensuite showers stopped working years ago. Staff Were ok, don't expect too much? Dont bother coming here unless you're planning to get maggot drunk.. We had a bloke walk into our room 3 or 4 in the morning to turn on the lights, turn back around and walk out again. The kitchen is cramped and these people don't know how's to clean up after themselves.. You will not get a good night's sleep. A Beckett is very busy and we had vocal drunks trying their vocal abilities. One positive is the location

I stayed in the hostel for 10 nights and was pleased with my room for the price. Room was of a nice size but had this odd smell about it. Fine to leave window open durig day to air it out but woke to the odd smell daily. Maybe the carpets need a good clean or replacing??
All staff are really friendly and helpful. Receptions open 24/7 so there never far away with a smile and a helping hand even when your mates a little drunk. Thanks Guys.
Only 2 problems. 1. The kitchen is tiny for the amount of rooms and noone knows how to wash up PROPERLY. 2. The floor i was on (3rd) only had one working toilet throughout most of my stay so had to go to other floors.
Other than that great hostel in a great location easy access to everythig especially the Queen Vic market :-)
Would stay again and reccomend to friends

Central Melbourne, about a 20 minute walk to Federation Square and the Harbour and we had a blast! The bar here is amazing, decent drinks for a decent price. We stayed in a ten bed dorm and the beds were super comfy, everyone really really helpful and the shared bathrooms were continuously cleaned and always in good condition. The travel information was really good, and it's a great and easy place to be picked up from for various excursions. There are loads of convenient stores and shopping malls situated really close to the hostel, and then of course there's the Queen Victoria Markets which give you everything you need for a great price! The kitchen area was a little intimidating and we didn't feel inclined to use the free pasta and rice for this reason, but a really good place to stay and thoroughly recommend it.

Brilliant! Situated in a pretty good location, close to both clubs, pubs and bars as well as the Queen Victorian Markets. Within walking distance (15-20 mins) to the Crown Casino too! Staff are friendly and hilarious - have a mixture of safety and fun as their number one priority! The themed bar nights are fantastic with relatively cheap prices and the actual dorms are basic but good - great value for money. Beds very creaky and location provides for a lot of street noise. Small kitchen.
