I love the Alto. This is the 3rd time that I've stayed there & every time it's been an enjoyable experiece. The staff are friendly, the rooms are clean & tidy. The windows can be opened (even if all you can see is a brick wall, at least you can get fresh air). At night, the outside noise was at a minimum. I love the idea of the hotel being environmental eg dispensers instead of plastic bottles & soap that gets thrown away after one night. The hotel is within walking distance to SkyBus, Etihad Stadium, Southern Cross station & Coles, which makes it a perfect place to stay. Last time I was in Melbourne, I had to stay somewhere else. I won't make that mistake again!

Room tip: Book early.

The location of the hotel is its big asset: it is in the center, very close to most sights and literally next to the skybus (a direct bus shuttle service to and from the airport). Eco-consciousness is certainly the theme. The rooms are clean and comfortable, but relatively small. This is clearly not haute gamme but for the price paid, the value is good.

Great location for football, trains and trams. 200metres from Eithad Stadium. A great pub and restaurant across the road. Rooms were neat and tidy and spacious. The hotel is Eco friendly which is a nice touch. Front end staff were helpful and even helped me out with a new phone charger. Close toa 24 hour deli and banks etc. Short walk into the main shopping area on Bourke St. Well priced and would stay again.
