This is most iconic Italian part of Melbourne. It is called Lygon Street. Every part of Italy is here. Food, Coffee, atmosphere. I have never had a bad meal here. I have always had a great experience that I will always return to.

Lygon Street is great for a one stop shop to see many different stores, cafes and a few bars. This Place is huge with everything and amazing. There are heaps of shops to look at and nice places here to grab something to eat or drink. The street is a great location to shop as several shopping malls located here. Lygon Street has a beautiful old shopping complex in the CBD, so many different shops to suit for everyone's wants/needs. The architecture of the buildings are really nice to see if you don't like shopping.
I have to admit that I lost myself from my friends and couldn't remember which side I had seen to. It has many amazing stores and especially you can make your own kit kat sight seeing in one hour and half. There is also free Wifi available in the area.
Great shopping and also the food available everywhere. The mall next to the Central station, with anything and everything to see there and if you wish could by some of them. Interesting outlets, merchandise and excellent service is available in most places. Food and beverage options are endless as well.
Melbourne central has some great food venues and fashion shops. Melbourne Central is the largest shopping centre in the inner city of Melbourne and was opened in 1991. On the site the historic soaring 1888 Coops Shot Tower is found which was kept and covered with glass and a big clock on display. There is also a supermarket in the basement which is great for essentials. Make sure you stop and enjoy the beautiful glass roof, It is absolutely amazing. Enjoy your shopping.
Whilst we (my friends and I) were there, we saw stalls which were selling items made by emerging local designers. Absolutely an amazing place to go and see. Even it is a great spot for children to do things as well.
You get a bonus and don't forget, for every AUD 10 you spend you get your parking for cheaper (becomes AUD 8 an hour instead of AUD 16). We bought some gorgeous accessories. Just make sure you get them to validate your parking ticket in the store itself.
It is a great place to also find all kinds of food as there are several food courts with all types of cuisines which are all reasonably priced. When you are in the city make sure you stop and do a visit. I recommend to you to visit the Lygon Street and do your shopping and enjoy a meal too.

Lygon Street used to be a mecca in my student days, giving a sense of being rather sophisticated sipping cappuccino or eating a pizza instead of standard student cafe pies-and-peas. Nowadays the restaurant section, with the evengin spruikers, is just one second rate and pricey place after another. The upper section has more interesting shops, and the Cinema Nova and Readings bookshop are great drawcards, but it's all a bit old hat now. One tip, however, idyl, a shop just down from the cinema arcade, sells pure cotton, Australian-made clothing, hooray!

Lygon Street is a fun place to go and only a short walk from RMIT. There are restaurants for all tastes and budgets and at night has a vibe like nowhere else. Great fun and dining.
