“Fantastic Food and Amazing service - particularly Scott!”
Reviewed 13 June 2014

I came with a group of friends for a low key dinner and drinks and we had an incredible time thanks to our waiter Scott, perfectly cooked steaks, a great range of beer and some brilliant tapas plates. They were very generous with their portions and let us try a few of the beers before buying. Scott was such fun and very knowledgeable about all alcohol related things - he really made our evening.
Go for a good atmosphere, varied menu and fantastic service.
Thanks again Scott.

Reviewed 10 June 2014 via mobile

we arrived hungry, with good review on this site and the sound of the menu we had to give it a try. we enjoyed a tasting plate between 3 and a serve of corn fritters with recomended wine from the bar man, a very lovley choice indeed.
it was a late lunch around 2. the staff were very friendly, putting up with us 3 chatty friends who just flew in from sydney.

service was amazing, we will definatly wine and dine again next vist.

“Mussels galore...”
Reviewed 24 May 2014 via mobile

Tuesday night or Thursday I can't remember which is mussel night, a full pan pot for around $15 offered its various sauces and served with bread. Great drinks and guest brewery's often available. Great for social drinks especially when Melbourne is in the height of summer.

“Had a nice dinner for two”
Reviewed 7 May 2014

We shared the mussels in coconut plus a couple of small plates and shared two lots of the beer tastings. I really enjoyed the food and service. We stayed right across the road so it was an easy choice for us as we walked.

“Well worth a try.”
Reviewed 4 May 2014

Had been here years ago when it was a Belgian Beer Garden and the restaurant is pretty much unchanged. The concept of Village Melbourne is interesting in what is an piece of Melbourne heritage. The meal was pretty good. It was Sunday night, cold, wet and uninspiring to go out but I'm glad we did. We chose shared plates and it was presented well cooked and efficiently. The staff were great. The main menu is a bit limited but the wine list is excellent and we did partake a bottle! Overall I'm glad we went and we will no doubt try again when up that end of town. I would give it somwhere better than average and a little below very good!
