I was introduced to Threadfin here for lunch the other day. A lovely white flesh salmon type of fish and the pub cooked it perfectly, accompanied with asian flavours and vegetables.

You certainly wouldn't go here for the view or the ambience. We sat overlooking the car park. The very large beer garden was deserted and lacked any character. But we did have a great meal of fish and chips ($25), beautifully served in a little basket. The salad was a little wilted but overall a good meal. Staff were a bit disinterested but efficient.
Good value meal in the middle of Chinatown.

The beers are ice cold and the service great. Had one meal there and was delicious. Its a big pub with different areas and a nice outdoor area where you can have a meal or a quite drink to chill out. Recommend highly.

I was recently introduced to The Roey by a small group of co-workers. A great thing about it, is that they have a van that will come pick you up and bring you here and then take you back to where you came from.
We all went to the bar which is an open air type of place with fans and a couple of air con units that blow heavenly cool air down as you go through the doors.
The do have indoor and outdoor seating, some of which is covered. There is a large stage outside presumably for concerts.
There are pool / snooker tables too if you are into that.
There was a band setting up to play, but we all had to leave to catch our flight. Maybe there will be a band playing if we get sent into town for a cyclone. :)
