“2 nights at Cable Beach”
Reviewed 19 June 2014

we spent 2 nights here as part of our APT tour of the Kimberley .....excellent dining facilities at the Sunset Bar and Grill ... ideally situated directly behind Cable Beach . would have liked to have spent more time at this resort but decided to change as it was very expensive compared to other choices in this part of Broome . Breakfast is excellent .Dinner was expensive and the wine prices breathtaking !

Room Tip: choose a room that gets lots of daytime sun and close to the Ocean Pool

The Cable beach Club Resort and Spa is a wonderful place to take time out, enjoy the wonderful Broome weather and then stroll along the world class beautiful beach that is Cable Beach. You can dine in any of the restaurants (the Thai pearl is the most expensive but certainly the most delicious, although we enjoyed two sunset dinners at the Sunset bar and Grill, which included cocktails and the opportunity to see the beautiful sunset over Cable Beach). Get to the Sunset Bar and Grill early - at least 30 mins before sunset - if you want to get a seat!

We also ended up avoiding the 'Adults Only' pool - feeling it was lessfriendly and casual than the family pool.

Room Tip: Try and choose a room away from the madding crowds - for example, the Acacia Wing looks back out ont...

Lovely room and the resort has a lovely garden, but not the place to stay if you want a quiet night - it is party central. Confusion at reception had me waiting 20 mins to check in, and a function with loud music was right outside our room - it would have been nice to have been warned about this, or nice to have been placed away from the dance party. It did stop at 10.10pm but we couldn't hear ourselves think or enjoy our balcony. So if you are exhausted from travel and want a quiet night in - try somewhere else. This place is geared up for large, noisy groups. They were apologetic and made amends, but too much to pay for such a noisy place.

Room Tip: Check if they have a large group booking or function on before you book.

Stayed for 3 nights in May and it was excellent in all areas. We had our meals at the 3 restaurants of the hotel and the food and service was first class. We didn't have to leave the resort if we didn't want to, everything was there. Accommodations was spacious and classy. I would recommend it for anyone wanting to have a longer holiday with family or just a short break with other couples as we did.

A relatively new resort with a great pool, modern facilities, very good staff.........but like many resorts that aim to accommodate large numbers of guests at any one time it shows in many areas.
Too many rooms (nearly 300 in this case) and tiny rooms at that with minimal natural light.
Buffet breakfast is more like a wrestling match where only the strongest survive.
We paid 450-00/night for 4 nights accomodation for a room that was not a reasonable size to spend 4 nights in.
The food is very expensive if you choose to eat in , there appears to be little nearby competition.
It is located very close to Cable Beach which was handy.
Overall the cost is not matched by what is on offer.
A 2 night proposition at best

Have stayed twice in the last two weeks, once for 4 nights and the a second 2 night stay after our trip into the Kimberly. We had functions on both during both stays that kick on till around midnight. The second of the two was quite loud.

As we were checking out this morning; one wing had no hot water and a second had no water at all! The place is getting old and tired and needs a heap of maintenance done. Check out the balustrade on the stairs to the Corella wing.

Lastly, having spend time in 5 star resorts around the place, this one takes the cake at attempting to exclude you from the local community. No information from the staff and a continual push to keep you on the premises to spend more money. We had a look at one of the other places to stay to find a bed for next time and they gave us a map of the town, the CBCR advised us to buy the Broome booklet to get a map.

A disappointing stay all round.

We stayed 2 nights in the Bougainvillea Wing ("Garden View Studio") and were stunned by the simply beautiful, classy, spacious room with its timber shutters, spotless highly-polished jarrah floors, superb bathroom with walk-in shower and separate toilet (all with external exhaust), a safe, excellent TV, efficient quiet A/C, comfortable king-size bed and private, covered outside area with 2 seats & table facing beautiful tropical gardens. The resort is spread over an enormous area with perfectly maintained extensive tropical gardens (including palms, frangipani, pools, creeks & water lillies) which embrace tennis courts, beautiful swimming pools (including an "adults only" pool with bar service) & 3 restaurants. Simply the best. Make sure you stay there.
