Owner description: Perth's favourite playground, the Swan River is a stunning waterway which winds its way from the Darling Scarp to Fremantle. This natural attraction is popular location for Perth locals and visitors to enjoy a day out boating, fishing, skiing, paddling, swimming, picnicking or simply enjoying its vista.Rich in environmental and cultural values, the Swan River was named Derbal Yerrigan by the local Aboriginals who believe that the river was created by the rainbow serpent ‘Waugal’, a dreamtime spirit taking the form of a giant snake. It is believed that the Waugal created creeks, waterholes, lakes and valleys on its journey to the ocean.

“Beautiful cruise”
Reviewed 21 October 2013

Take the captain cook cruise to Fremantle and back and sit back, relax, and enjoy the view. You can opt for tram or lunch cruise which we didn't. We aske for a Fremantle stop by option for an hour but don't do this if you have young kids as it's not enough time to explore. Opt at least a two hour stop. If you're doing the cruise plus zoo option, either don't stop, or do Fremantle stop for at least two hours and do the zoo next day.

“The swan River one of the most peaceful places on sunset. Has the most eligent resteraunts over looking the River.”
Reviewed 20 October 2013

Where to begin ? just such a great city best in Australia ! I would love to move back there and live there for rest of my life maybe someday. Freemantle as I have been told and seen has changed naturally since I was there but for the better great port of call for ships and open eateries best fish and seafood ! The Perth entertainment Centre is awesome to say the least went to a show or two. Kings Park wow just blows you away, met someone there who lived on few of the huge homes located within the Park itself. Of cause I wont lie, as is any where these days there was is and will always be the not so good places however in my experience living in PERTH or any other place you,ll find what you are looking for so keep looking Perth has heaps of great fun interesting places people and natural beauty......

Reviewed 18 October 2013

Enjoyed the whole day!! & a reasonable price also. Were advised that it could be busy in Freemantle as it was AFL final day but we enjoyed the family atmosphere there. Excellent comentary took lots of pgotos of the "mansions" seen along the river.

“Excellent river cruise to Sandalford winery with Captain Cook Cruises”
Reviewed 16 October 2013 via mobile

With slight trepidation a group of friends purchased tickets for the Perth's Famous Wine Cruise on 16/10/2013. The voyage up river was extremely pleasant if the wine tasting was a little poor. The tour of Sandalford was well done and culminated in an excellent lunch worth half the ticket price. The gentle trip home, with a full stomach and the pleasing effects of good wine while we were beautifully serenaded by Rachael was the high point it a very pleasant and memorable day. Top marks to all the Captain's crew and the guide at Sandalford.
