I took the "Perth's Famous Wine Cruise" with a group of 7 work colleagues last Monday. Our expectations were pretty simple - good food and wine whilst enjoying the scenery of the Swan Valley. We were blown away by the experience though! From the outset our hosts, Georgia and Rachael, were very entertaining and the background commentary was very informative with details about Perth's history and the local attractions. There was a great selection of teas and breakfast pastries, and then the wine tasting began.

Lunch at Sandalford was just delicious - I had the barramundi and it simply melted in the mouth. The wine flight was a very good selection, and you could then choose one to have a (generous) glass of with your meal. The port and sherry tasting after lunch was a welcome surprise before re-boarding the boat back to Perth.

For the return journey, we had already had the commentary about Perth so the girls laid on entertainment in the form of singing and dancing. I suspect you need to be in the right mood for this and I note that previous reviews that others have found this intrusive. However, I suggest embracing the experience - we joined in and had an outrageous afternoon of laughter.

Overall, an excellent day with a good mixture of information about Perth, the wines we were enjoying, the history of the area and some hilarious entertainment. Great value day, which I would highly recommend for small groups.

Used this boat to travel to Freemantle but there are a lot more tours on offer like Rottnest and other locations. We just got a one way ticket and then got the train back.

My wife and I took the lunchtime cruise up the Swan river. We were well greeted and seated by charming staff and the buffet lunch offered a good choice of cold and hot collations followed subsequently by some very good desserts. Drinks were promptly served and refreshed without stinting.
The Captain's commentary was interesting and at times chuckle worthy.
We now know why we cannot see the river from the road, there is no road that goes along it for any appreciable distance!
The wildlife was varied and slowing to watch the pod of river dolphins for several minutes was great.
The entertainment, provided by the 'Singing Waitress', fitted in with the mood of the afternoon and seemed to go down well with almost everyone on board.
A great way to spend an afternoon and we highly recommend it.
Pre-booking is essential, our cruise was comfortably full but not overcrowded.

I had my parents visiting from the UK and this was the perfect combination of excellent views, informative information and a great chilled evening. The commentary was very interesting and this was the perfect length to see the swan river highlights without it going on too long. A drink included with your ticket and a bar available does make this the perfect evening starter!

The cruise started out well with a nice booth table and quick wine service. It started to go downhill with a very average buffet lunch (potato salad from Coles?), we didn't see anymore of the dirty Swan River than to Belmont and back and the return trip included "entertainment" from the crew which did not stop - the poor girl could sing but if we had wanted a tacky love boat style cabaret we would have booked it. Plenty of others on the outside bow of the boat trying to escape having to make eye contact agreed. We couldn't wait to get off and had trouble getting Dolly Parton out of our heads for the rest of the day. A nice scenic cruise on a quiet Monday afternoon it was not. My husband said he wouldn't return if you paid him!
