Nice staff and great setting on the water.
Tend to drop in for a drink rather than eat as I'm not so keen on the menu

Need a coffee and a rest after a long journey. Walked down and Toast was one of the few places open in mid afternoon on a weekday in East Perth. Ordered 2 long blacks and a sour dough sandwich to share. In brief the sandwich was great and fresh ingredients through out. Complimented to owner. Coffee was at best indifferent but in reality crap. Similar to experiences with McDonalds. I would not entertain going there again for coffee.
Which is a shame as we need places like this to remain open and successful. The market in cafes and coffee shops is very strong. This place has the natural advantage of waterfront location in a beautiful area of Perth. However the quality needs to be there and be consistent which it wasn't.

Having read the reviews hubby and I eschewed breakfast at our hotel and went in search of Toast. It was not easy to find and they could do with a sign on the street. The ambiance is nice, waiting staff were polite and we sat outside because it was a bright, spring morning. We had two pots of tea, juice, an omelette with bacon and corn fritters with bacon and scrambled egg for the sum of 62.60 AUD. Although the food was tasty, and of good portions, we felt that it was expensive, especially as you have to go to the counter to order. My short term memory loss would have preferred table service. The tables themselves are quite small and we barely had room for our order.

It was a nice start to our holiday but I would think twice about returning.
