Very basic hotel, you would think at $165 you would at least get your own toilet and shower!!! Ok for 1 night.

The slowest internet I've experienced in Australia (and that's a very LOW bar). Rooms are large but not very attractive. Air conditioning can't keep up even in the spring, can't imagine how warm these rooms get in the full sun of the summer. EXCELLENT location right in the heart of the CBD. A meagerly stocked honor snack bar - everything in my mini-fridge was frozen, suggesting the inventory is a bit old. Elevator was not working during my stay and signs posted around the building guiding guests to the stairs suggest that's a regular event. At A$230 a night I expect a bit more - working internet, working elevator, just a hint more light in the rooms.

Room Tip: Because of the chronic elevator problems try to get a room on the 1st floor (that's 1 floor abov...

I agree with the review by omonkey in all details. This hotel is great value and in a great location. In addition, you can get a single room with shared bathroom for $100 or less. The bathrooms are very clean. Even the shower curtains are washed. There's Foxtel, air con, a fan and fridge. There is a lot of tourist info in the lobby. Reception staff are very efficient and helpful. I liked this hotel and stayed there on 3 separate occasions in Nov/Dec.

I stayed at the Comfort Inn Wentworth Plaza for 4 nights at the end of my holiday in Perth.
I have no complaints whatsoever!
I wrongly assumed I would be able to find accommodation in Perth relatively easily just by turning up so I booked just a few nights in a different hotel for my arrival in the city. I then found that a lot of hotels in Perth were full and ended up having to move location a couple of times around the city and Freemantle. My last 4 nights were at Wentworth Plaza. All the en suite rooms were booked so I had to have a room with shared facilities.
My room was very clean, well equipped, very comfortable and very quiet! There was an ample supply of tea and coffee which was fully replenished each day. The reception staff were helpful, friendly and efficient at all times! Plenty of space, good AC and a cealing fan. The shared bathroom was fine, I never had to wait to use a shower. It was cleaned thoroughly every morning and the only time It looked like it could do with a scrub was after other people had used it and hadn't left it as they found it.
It is an old hotel but I found this an advantage and made it even more charming, the maze of corridors, the big old staircase, the solid walls. If you prefer a brand spanking new, modern, glitzy, trendy hotel with no character then this hotel is not for you.
Excellent location with shops, restaurants, train/bus station virtually on your doorstep. The Swan river within easy walking distance.
I did notice that the location of my room was not near the pub which is on site so maybe a tip would be to ask for a similar room in a location not near the pub. I slept like a baby in my room and didn't hear a sound! It was the least expensive of any of the hotels I stayed in but the best of all of them! Perth is not cheap but I found this hotel to be very good value for money.
I couldn't have been happier and would not hesitate staying here again!! I agree with the comments of past reviewer 'personalchoice'.

My only regret is that I was unable to stay longer!

Room Tip: Ask for a room which is not near the onsite pub to ensure a good nights sleep. If you are travellin...

This hotel is located in an older building and has seen better days. It is badly in need of up dating. It is also not overly clean. The hotel does not have it's own parking and the closest lot is extremely expensive. The hotel is also over priced as are most hotels in Perth. It is however in a great location in the centre of Perth and in walking distance of restaurants, bars etc. Given the location it is also pretty quiet. The front desk staff are friendly and quite helpful.
Not a place for a long stay but OK for a night or two.

Looking at previous reviews I cannot see why, as I am very critical. Location Location Location. This is its best asset. It is a heritage biulding and yes it may seem outdated. I was in room 125. The staff are great and the ammeneties are close by. It is Located 100 metres from the Perth Underground station and Main station. With Free buses 100 metres away. The price for Perth is really good approx $145.per night, which for Perth as any experienced person would know is CHEAP. The critical reviewers should check out the Larger groups i.e The Mantra opposite was $379, so what do you expect. The fact that it is old adds to its quaintness. It definately does not appear old as the City of Perth are very strict re Heritage. It was built in 1938. OK if you want modern you will have to pay for it at the same location. I think your reviewer BangkokStu was in another place and forgot!!!. I never recycle my towels as I am not a greenie.I like to be clean!!!

Room Tip: I like the rooms that have a microwave. Book online at choicehotels.com and you can see the inclusio...
