Reception clean and tidy

Rooms spacious but 'tired' and need updating - beds not as requested and on arrival had to help receptionist make up beds at 4am!

Would not stay here again

My work has me travelling all around Australia and it has to be said that Perth has the most miserable hotels in Australia. You would think that all the cash sloshing around from the mining boom would trickle down into refurbishing hotels, but sadly no.
However for Perth the Mantra isn't a bad hotel. I stayed there for 5 nights. The staff were fantastic and the rooms fairly spacious and well furnished. For some reason they put me in a room with a bathroom equipped for the disabled which was pretty ugly. The kitchen was 'showing age' and the floor was so sticky I thought I was going to loose flesh from the soles of my feet.
The breakfast provided by their restaurant was excellent with cappuccinos if you want them. The restaurant in the evening was fairly average.
I have a continuing gripe about the way hotels charge for wireless internet access. The Mantra was no different, charging $1 per minute. I used an internet cafe in the CBD and they charged $1 per 15 min. Now the guys that run this internet cafe presumably make a profit so hotels charging 15x this rate is just outrageous. If they made the price more reasonable then more people would surely use it. Try the Dome cafe where the internet is free if you buy something.
The location is in the seedier end of Perth but Perth has a fantastic free bus system during the day. You can catch a 'Black Cat' bus to the city for free just outside the hotel. They run every 5 mins. Brilliant! Other cities in Australia should learn.
So for Perth, not a bad hotel, spacious rooms and great staff.

I stayed for three weeks in February 2008. I was in Perth for the wedding of my son. Approximately 45 of us had flown out nad almost all stayed at the Saville Park Apartments. I have nothing but praise for the staff and the facitilties were superb. The rooms were immaculate and were cleaned every day. The restaurant was good nad the restaurant manager was probably the nicest man we met in out time in Perth. I would recommend this hotel to anyone making the trip to Perth. I shall certainly stay there again if I am lucky enough to visit Perth again.

We stayed there for 10 nights with a 15 month old. we had a 2 room apartment on the third floor. The room was really good and we managed to achieve everything required to look after a young kid.
The pool was nice and a good choice of gym equipment if required

The front desk were always really helpful and any problems with the room were sorted out quickly (blown bulbs and a squeaky door)

I would stay there again

We stayed for a week in a spacious two bedroom apartment. Very modern, clean and comfortable. Fantastic location. 5 minute walk to mall shopping. 10 min taxi to all good eating areas. Small pool/fitness area.

I chose this hotel after reading lots of positive reviews on this website. I booked a single room apartment but when I got there I was put in a double bedroom apartment for no cost which was fantastic! These rooms are very big and comfortable and had a full kitchen including pots and pans etc and even a full size fridge, washing machine and dryer. The reception staff were fantastic, very helpful and friendly, the room was always cleaned to a very high standard and the location is good with free bus, ATM, mini supermarket and a few restauraunts and a bottle store on the opposite corner.
My complaints are only small ones, the swimming pool on the top floor was a little bit dirty (stuff floating in the water), the room air conditioner worked really well but was quite loud during operation and our balcony looked out over a small courtyard then a wall. But over all I would certainly stay here again and it was good value for money (especially given the room upgrade).

The Saville Apartments are well situated and spacious. The reception staff are as helpful as I have ever had. Daily maintenance is efficient. The apartments are well fitted and it is great to have the extra space an apartment offers. We stayed there for 10 nights. Drawback? The Saville doesn't have an outside lounge area and the parking charge is over the top. Overall though, I strongly recommend these apartments.
