I saw alot of reviews on how shabby this place is - well there's some truth to it or perhaps people are expecting too much from the word boutique. They are doing some sort of renovation - which sucks cause it's noisy but at least we know things will get better.

Hay Street itself is actually quite nice and there's bus stops nearby. Btw, Perth's busses are FREE!!! fantastic and you can get the route from maps at the lobby. Walk further up and you have stores and restaurants etc...walk all the way for 15 minutes and you reach Murray area which is great for shopping.

Booked a 2-bedroom + 2-bathroom apartment for 2 days. Ended up quite disappointed.

Firstly, room looked older than the pictures. Requested for a roll-away bed and it was not set up prior to our arrival. It was an uncomfortable sofa bed.

Although there were 2 bathrooms, one of the bathrooms in the room didn't have any showerhead at all, and only had a bathtub, which made it quite difficult to shower.

One of the bedroom was not an "actual" room, and didn't have any windows at all.
There was only one air-con/heater in the entire apartment (in the living room).

Requested for late check-out prior to arrival, and they said I'll have to pay A$20 to extend the check-out from 10am to 12pm.

For the price, not a place that I will likely return again...

This place is terrible. I am sure you will be able to find more worthwhile accommodation elsewhere.

The amenities of renting an apartment are no doubt present. You are provided with a kitchen which is decently equipped and a washing machine/dryer.

Everything else however you will have to purchase yourself. By "everything else", I mean dishwashing liquid, dishwashing sponges, basic seasonings like salt and pepper, washing powder for clothes and even toilet paper. My party of four had a room for an entire week and all they provided us with was one roll of toilet paper. When I requested for more, I was told that the one roll was a "starter", and that I had to purchase my own toilet paper for the rest of my stay.

This establishment is also clearly disinterested in securing future business. Customer service appears to be a foreign concept. Staff were indifferent if not outright rude. We were told that we could only check-in at 2pm, which would be fine if it weren't for the fact that the staff on duty was blatantly hesitant to allow us to leave more than 2 pieces of luggage behind in their care. We were thus forced to explore the area for 3 hours while lugging heavy backpacks around.

Also be warned that you are expected to know that you absolutely must check-out by 11am. In fact, housekeeping rudely banged on our door at 10am demanding to know what time we would be checking-out. Mind you, this was the first and only encounter we had with housekeeping the entire week that we stayed at this place. Everything has to be cleaned by you during your stay. Forget towel changes or even basic rubbish disposal, you wash your own towels and bring your own trash to their designated trash disposal room.

Back to check-out, we were rushed by the front-desk by way of a curt phone call to get out by 11am. We were not prepared for such an early check-out, considering most places make you check-out only at 12pm and also since we were made to wait for so long for our check-in. We made it out by 1120am, but that was not good enough for the robots at the front-desk and were made to pay for an entire hour of late surcharge.

In short, if all you need is an apartment with a kitchen and washing machine, but are prepared to buy everything else yourself and do your own housekeeping, you could consider staying here. Personally, I feel the staff and management of these so called "boutique" apartments should be utterly embarrassed by the place.

A great disappointment. We booked an apartment, after seeing the pictures online, and were really surprised to see how shabby, dirty and run down the rooms were in reality. We requested to check out after the first two nights, but were told the room charge was non refundable, but the did offer an alternate room. Admittedly the second room was much better, but still left a lot to be desired and was far from the clean, bright, fantasy room seen on the website. The heating wasn't working (we happened to be in Perth on the rainest week of the year), and the spare blanket was covered in someone else's hair.

I'd definitely give this one a miss.

Room Tip: Rooms at another hotel are better.

my brother and i recently stayed at the mont clare because he required a wheelchair accessible room. prior to making the booking my daughter and i went to view the room. made a booking, confirmed the week before and when she went to book us in they had given the room to someone else. we were boarding our flight from brisbane. yes they could swap the roms around but the bed configuration wasn't how we wanted it. so my daughter and her fiance had to move the beds around. the response from the rude reception staff was that they fixed the problem. we also paid more to book through them than on the internet. i booked through them so i could secure the disabled suite.
reception staff lack in customer care, our room received a mini service in the 2 weeks we stayed and the cost was $3000 for the fortnight.
complaint was made to management but are yet still to hear back. we checked out on may 4th. obviously they don't care. the pool is not heated.

Room Tip: look else where

My family and I stayed here for 5 days. We stayed in a 2 room apartment, big rooms but there was only 1 air con in the whole apartment and being summer it was not cool enough. However the kitchen was well equipped, especially the dish washing machine just so helpful. They provide towels and soap powder because there is a washing machine so you can actually wash your clothes. But no toiletries, you have to get rid of your own trash because there is no housekeeping during your stay. The apartment is good for families, you can keep an eye on your children and for the price it is value for money. Well located with sundry shops and car rental shops around the corner. Unfortunately, you cannot check in early as the reception area opens from 9am - 5pm.

Room Tip: Try to arrive during their opening hours 9am - 5pm.

I've stayed at this apartment more than once and am happy with what I am paying for. Location wise is pretty much ideal for me. For visitors, car rentals are just round the corner. That way you don't have to drive from the airport to the apartment after a tiring flight. The shuttle can drop you off.

It is about a 15-20 stroll to the central city shopping belt. A straight road down, so you pretty much can't stray off course. For those who are prefer to hop on the bus, there is a free shuttle and the stop is within a 2-3 minute walk from Mont Clare.

Not many restaurants worth shouting about in the nearby vicinity, but if you have been to Perth before ... Northbridge should cater to your stomach. Plenty of restaurants, bars and clubs to choose from.

As mentioned in my title, good choice when travelling with family or in groups. It makes $ sense as it is cheaper than a hotel. Seriously, you just need a place to crash ... right?

Room Tip: The rooms are relatively clean. On site parking is secured and free! No WiFi though (which is a bit...
