“Good Family Stay”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 June 2013

The 3-bedroom apt was just nice for our family ie 4 adults and 2 kids. it had all the facilities we needed, kitchen to make simple bfast and dinner, sitting area with TV, dining, etc. We even entertained some friends who came and visited us. Those manning the reception area were very friendly and helpful as one luggage didn't arrive with us and they helped to arrange for it. So it was indeed a wonderful stay for us!

Room Tip: Nothing more than 5th flr as for 6th flr, you need to take the staircase. Ours was one 5th flr, near...

We have stayed at this small boutique apartment many times over the years.
We chose this place because its away from the city centre yet near enough. On the quiet side of east perth, with ample parking. Easy to drive in and out from apartment. There is also free CAT bus services in front of hotel.
This time we stayed at unit 20, a 1bedroom with nice layout and spacious.
Washing machine, dryer n complete kitchen which is ideal for golf holiday.
A supermarket, bottleshop n nice restaurants nearby.
Will definitely return.

All Perth hotels are expensive, especially so close to the city. Unfortunately we picked this one, which is around the same price as a hotel opposite, where we had previously had a very positive experience!
Beyond being clean, there's not much else nice to say about this place. We had a 2 bed apartment: the main bedroom was windowless and as a result extremely stuffy. The apartment did have a small balcony, but the flywire door was too short for the space (seriously?! Who constructs a door too small for its hole?) so we couldn't leave it open at night as we have small children and deemed it too dangerous.
Far from "boutique", this hotel has a strange policy of not offering any extra towels for the pool, and then trying to charge you extra if you'd like a dry one. C'mon guys. Nearly $300 a night should buy me a bonus pool towel.
The beds were comfy enough, the television worked, all the basic amenities were provided. But it's just that: basic. Not boutique.

Was unimpressed by Mont Clare. On the positive side the apartment was clean and spacious. On the negative side we had a three bedroom apartment that had two bathrooms, one of which only had a bathtub for baths, no shower. The third bedroom did not have an exterior window. The only A/C was in the living room and thus bedrooms were very hot at night (we were there in summer).

Room Tip: Ask how many showers and A/C units your room has.

Over Easter I stayed in a three bedroom, two bathroom apartment at Mont Clare 'boutique' Apartments with a large group attending Perth for a competition.

Lets just say using the word boutique in the title is definitely a stretch of the imagination.

On arrival we discovered that there was only one shower in the whole 3bdrm apartment and for people to access this shower they have to walk through one of the bedrooms (lucky for me that was mine :S). Coordinating 6 people to shower in the mornings was certainly an interesting feat.

To make matters worse, the shower that we were sharing between 6 people was moudly!! I have never experienced accommodation before with a mouldy shower which then caused me to question the hygiene of the whole apartment.

In the same bathroom the washing machine was VERY old and we had to turn on and off a few times till we could actually get it to work. The tap in the bathroom was leaking so the vanity was always covered in water.

The kitchen was quite a joke with the handle falling off the frypan, 1 glass (for 6 ppl), one tiny dingy dishcloth to wash up with, no containers or bowls to keep your food in and that overriding thought after being in the shower.. is any of this stuff actually clean?

ON THE POSITIVE SIDE...
- Nice location
- Reasonable size

Ok first of all I don't understand why people rated this place so badly judging by the reviews ! I mean you can't expect to get 6/7 star treatment wherever you go.

The top reason why we chose this place because it could fit the number of people that we had and also there was a special deal!

Ok so checking in during after hours wasnt a problem because they had a special safe box for you at the entrance- so these are for ppl who come after checking in hours as there reception isn't 24 hours.

Smooth check in & found a parking spot wherever available. Rooms were spacious, ya there were noises once in a while but I guess because it was the long Easter weekend so understandable. The facilities were plenty especially kitchen needs. The location is smack in the city and easy to get around . Easier if u have a car of course.

Oh ya, the living room sofas ( one of them is a sofa bed if u take a look closely just in case you want more sleep space ! )

Overall it was worth the money we paid.

My husband and I stayed for 8 nights in Feb 2013 and found the apartment to be more than adequate. Loved the location. Most days we walked into Perth centre, which was a pleasant walk, or somedays we caught the free CAT bus which the stop was very close to the hotel. There were plenty of options for dinners in close walking proximity. Close by was a small grocery store. The 1 bedroom apartment was spacious and looked out onto the main road, but didn't find the noise an issue. Reception was helpful. The beds perhaps could have done with a more comfortable mattress, but that would be my only issue. I wouldn't hesitate staying here again.
