It is very difficult to find a reasonably priced hotel in Perth. So, I ended up at Miss Maud's. Did I regret this choice? Not really but it wasn't really worth the $175 that I paid for a rather small room. The room was ok but small and very 1970s. It was next to the laundry room where there were clear instructions not to use after 6pm yet, the washing machine was still going at 10pm (not great for people travelling). Be warned if you have a heavy bag there are stairs to get to the lift and the lift is quite unreliable (if the door is left open at one level it won't move).
However, there were some clear pluses. It was clean and central. The breakfast is great (although at $25 for walk in customers it may explain the high room rates and should maybe be optional) and it has character which is hard to find these days.
Would I stay again. Yes, but only if I could get a better deal...
