I didn't really hang around at the hotel that much.. so what I can say about this hotel will not be as much or as helpful as others. It is vintage for sure... while other has split AC, mine was big like in my grand mother's house. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel was also very clean and comfy.

Stayed here for a few days here while visiting a friend in Perth. Set in a nice location near CBD and opposite the Swan River. Comfortable, clean and tidy rooms, while not massive are adequate. Free WiFi. Breakfast was very nice, buffet and a choice of hot food. Free bikes available and near the free bus service around the city centre. Would recommend this hotel.

Ideal location for a few days stopover in Perth. Handy for the city & getting to see a few sites like King's Park. Rooms are a little basic but what do you need after all you are visiting a beautiful city & all you need is somewhere comfortable & clean to sleep.

Sad to say that as a guest over the past 3 years I find the rates uncompetitive. Booked on line at $260 per night & was given room 205, same as about a year ago. Same small room but no fly screen on the window, AC vents missing, no room safe & really tacky doors. Bed was good. I asked the duty manager what was being done with the extra $ & was told rooms were being improved but so far not to level 2, no help to me. If the owners what to increase ROI to the detriment of CAPEX then this is a short term policy & I for one will start seriously considering other hotels.
On a positive note the restaurant is probably the best value in any Perth hotel although more staff training is needed, not to mention language skills

Room Tip: Get above the 2nd floor & ask about a discount card.

Easy to get to with good on site parking. First impressions great with small comfortable reception area with nice bar and very good restaurant. Excellent ambient. Room fine but bit small. Continental breakfast at $15 brilliant. At $160 per night excellent value for overpriced Perth. When the Ibis is $260 - Sullivans is worth double.
Will stay here every time in Perth.

Room Tip: The front have a good view but there maybe be road noise. Mounts Bay Road is very busy.

Well-located on Kings Park and near the CBD with beautiful views out to the Swan River, Sullivans Hotel makes a great home for a few nights at a reasonable rate. The Continental Breakfast was one of the best I've seen in a hotel of this standard and the front desk staff are extremely efficient and helpful - in many languages! The rooms are clean and the beds comfortable. There is even a small garden with a swimming pool at the back of the hotel. The only thing I would have liked was a safe in the room. Highly recommended.

Sullivan's hotel is basic but very clean and well located for a night or two especially if you like walking.
It's on the edge of Kings Park the world's largest town centre open space.
Although popular (visited by over 5m people each year) we still were able to walk in the park and bush land for stretches of around half an hour without seeing anyone else, so had a real feeling of isolation. The botanical gardens are laid out with plants from various regions of Australia and as 85% of the park is purposely left to bush: 'desert jungle' maybe a good description. Many of the trees and plants were fascinating to Euopean eyes; bottle trees, banksia, bottlebrush plants and others which look a bit like Spring flowers from home but with a twist. We also saw rainbow bee eaters, ravens, Wattle birds and a host of dragonflies very quickly into our walk.
At lunchtime and after work you are in danger however of being jogged to death by hoards of healthy-looking under 30-year-olds spilling out from the business district, each highly focussed on their personal fitness goals rather than on you. Everyone of them is wearing headphones -I think it must be the law!
There is a sign locally stating that residents ask that no fitness activities take place on their street -which would be a good line for 'unlikely notices to be seen in Manchester' on Mock The Week.
A lovely early evening walk is to go left from the hotel, climb the 241 steps of Jacob's Ladder, turn left at the top and walk the perimeter of Kings Park with spectacular views of the Swan River and City, descend the Kokodu trail and then turning left again go over the footbridge to John Olson Park and follow the waterway until you can cross the road again to the foot of the ladder, where there is a convenient liquor store. Takes about an hour.
The hotel has a small bar and provides modest breakfasts, snacks and evening meals at reasonable prices. There was a kettle and a fridge in our room which served most purposes. A number of restaurants and bars were a twenty minute walk away - so as I say this is a good place if you like walking.
The small swimming pool is fine for a quick dip and there are a few loungers for a taste of sun which while we were there was in abundance. The outside is enhanced by being encompassed on two sides by the park. The wide variety of trees and bushes provide both a relaxing environment and a home for birds, insects and animals, however as a consequence of the hillside and the tall trees, the sun goes down very early around the pool.
