We arrived around 8PM in the evening and received a warm welcome by the reception, she knew our booking just asking our family name, she issue us the keys and the voucher for breakfasts and ask us how many complimentary WiFi accounts we need as one account is for one device and inform us that the restaurant is open till 9PM if we want to have our dinner. Was offer the city map and was ask any others question we have. What a pleasant experience for our first night in Perth, most of our questions ans without asking.

On arrival we were greeted by a friendly old lady on reception who told us "we've given you a free room upgrade", we thought great & went to our room with excitement only to be let down! The room was smaller than most standard rooms we have had, with two small twin beds, most hotels on this trip have had two double beds for us. The shower had a curtain which wasn't much use as having a shower meant soaking the bathroom floor! The sink had a great big crack in it & the wall next to the toilet looked very dirty, with splash marks like it hadn't been cleaned properly. The room overall could have done with some major updating & to say this was an upgrade left us wondering what we would have got!! We booked the hotel mainly as it had free bike hire which was great, but we didn't get full use out of them as we decided to ride on our last day as we weren't flying till midnight! But when we enquired about late check out (check out time normally is 10am) we were informed the latest we could check out was 11am. So we asked if we could use a courtesy room to shower, to which we were told "we have no such facility" & there weren't even showers by the hotel pool! Not even one to rinse off before going for a swim!! We were amazed by this as I have never before known a hotel not allow you access to showers when you have a late night long haul flight ahead!! The lady on reception (not the nice one that checked us in) informed us the best she could suggest was it go to the beach & use the free showers! With no car this was out of the question for us & I think we would have got some strange looks getting out shower gel & shampoo by the beach!! Our room was on the front of the hotel & there was a busy main road outside, this would not normally be a problem but the windows/balcony doors were so poorly fitted that there was no noise reduction when they were closed. Which meant for a very noisy room!
When I leant on the doors they moved & can't have been any double glazing! The hotel was out of town, but served by free frequent busses into the city. The swimming pool area looked poorly maintained, in need of work & was crawling with biting ants! Having spent nearly 5 weeks in New Zealand & Australia with no insect bites & 20 mins by the hotel pool on our last day was all it took for me to get bitten!!

Room Tip: Try & get a room upgrade if you can!! Ask for a room at the back so you don't get the road...

Sullivans is about 10-15 minutes' walk out of town and in the free transit area, and looks out over a green area. It's convenient for Kings Park. The staff are friendly and helpful and a good continental breakfast buffet is served in the small but light and airy dining room. The wi-can be difficult to connect to but the manager cheerfully sorted this. Our standard room could do with a refresh (hence the overall average rating) but it was quiet and comfortable. Recommended if you want to stay out of the CBD.

On arrival we were disappointed to be given a small room on a lower floor which needed refurbishment especially as we had requested our room to be on a high floor. The next day we were transferred to a better refurbished room on a higher floor. The room was quite small but it met our needs. We had a continental breakfast each morning which was fine. The evening menu was limited but the meals we ate in the hotel were good. The pool is small and the area needs smartening up.
All the staff we met were helpful and courteous
We loved the position of the hotel, so close to Kings Park and you can either walk alongside the bay to get into the city or hop on the free bus from outside the hotel.

Room Tip: There are rooms with balconies but they are at the front of the hotel and overlook the road but thos...

We stayed at Sullivans twice on our way into Oz and the night before we left for Melbourne, I kept saying I only came back for dinner. Not a vast menu and all the better for it, fresh food, perfectly cooked and beautifully presented, so good we never ate anywhere else! Don't miss the chocolate pudding. We arrived the first time at 6.30am after a night flight that neither of us slept on, the night receptionist said check in was 12 noon she would keep our cases we should come back about 11am-I thought our stay was doomed. I was incapable of going anywhere so settled in the bar area - 10 minutes later the lovely Valentina came on duty and within half an hour she had us in our room.
All the day staff were so friendly, helpful and a joy to be around. Both the rooms we had were a good size, room to unpack. Comfy bed, good shower and lovely towels. Hurray no mini bar but a large bottle of ice cold water which in 37 degrees was much appreciated. Both rooms had air conditioning (essential) the second more modern than the first. All far more personal than a large city centre hotel.
Having said that Sullivans was a very short walk into the city, past Jacobs Ladder (242?) steps up to Kings Park (the locals use the steps for training!)
The hotel was terrific value for money, can't praise it enough.

Room Tip: Probably the back as there is building work going on at the hospital next door but any bed is good w...

My parents and I stayed here in early March and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The location is perfect, the rooms are adequate and spotlessly clean, drinking water left in the fridge each day and the beds are extremely comfortable and the staff are very very friendly.

The best thing about this hotel is the amazing breakfast. There is a continental buffet breakfast with a wonderful selection of fruit, meusli, yogurt, nuts and seeds, cold meats, yummy brown bread and what looks like home made jams and marmelade. This is then followed by a cooked breakfast which is served to you! Between us, we sampled everything on the menu, all sensational! It has to be said that the coffee is also simply wonderful! I never expect much from hotel coffee.. but this is outstanding! Oh! and if you are up early enough you will get to experience the hot scones..yummy.

Boris was so helpful each morning, he was very busy but never failed to smile and have some conversataion with us. Jean Denis is the duty manager, and while i did not get to meet him, he was very helpful over the phone and throughout the booking process.

We did not have evening meals in the hotel, but judging by the crowds who did, it appears to be excellent.

The location is very central, just a short walk to the city, Kings Park, Barrack street jetty and convention centre. I will definitely be returning and recommending to all my friends. I have stayed in other places in Perth, but this is the best!

Keep up the good work!
