There is no getting away from it that this place is in need of a degree of refubishment, that said I didnt find it grubby or unkempt either. It's in a great situation close to the city and Barrack street jetty. The Blue CAT bus runs from outside the door and does a circular tour of the city, this is a free service. Quite why Perth feels the need to have a free bus service is beyond me.. only the tourists use it as everyone else in Perth either runs or cycles. there is not an hour of the day when you wont see a jogger or cyclist making their way along the street, I recall waking to look out of the window at 04.00am to see a lone jogger pounding along Mounts Bay Road. If you are using Jacobs Ladder to access Kings Park, be warned, this place is a jogging mecca and there will hardly be room for you to walk up it between earest individuals working their way towards a heart attack. I liked sullivans, its like Perth, it was nice, and the people were nice..

Excellent 3 star hotel
Within 0.75 mile of the centre city - but free bus service to the city right outside the hotel . Front facing rooms overlook the river and city in the distance. We had problems with our luggage at the airport and the hotel staff very proactive and helped solve the problem.
Hire a bike; cycle ways clear and easy to use, we rode to up to Kings Park (hard going) and the WACA. Use plenty of sun screen.
This hotel is in the small and friendly category and can definitely be recommended.

Not a bad stay at all.
Considering the affordable price of the hotel, and just for the 1 night, there was certainly no cause for compaint as far as we were concerned.
The front office staff were very bright and bubbly, and this gave a good impression when we arrived.

Apart from the hotel looking outdated from the outside, coming inside is rather inviting and well presented. Clean and comfortable. Sure, it's not the Ritz, but not bad at all for a quick getaway or overnight stay.
The room was fine, cleaned well and the beds large and comfortable. No real complaints there.

The pool area was very relaxing, although a little small, but it was OK considering there was not many hanging out in the pool area of the hotel.

Location is not as central as some of its other competitors, however transport such as a link bus leaves directly outside every 10-15 minutes and takes 2 mintues to get into the city centre. Or you could take a 10-15 minute walk.

If we are needing a simple stay again, we will certainly consider Sullivans hotel.

Stayed for 2 nights and thought the hotel was excellant value and the staff were very helpfull.
The hotel is quite small but has most facilities including a good restauarant. Has a great location next to kings park and it was a short walk to the city centre or as we mostly did just, hopped on the free Blue CAT bus. Stayed in a Standard room which was small but well maintained and quiet. Hotel has free WiFi which is a real boon. Was able to work for an hour each morning.

Stayed for as a stop over on way to singapore, first impressions were that it was quite dated, our room was on the first floor and as we aproached our room there was a distinct smell of urine, rom was ok despite the ac unit being quite large.

Weather was poor but there was a draft coming from the windows which would not lock or close fully so rain came through. thinking it could not get worse, there was then a high pitch whistling sound which went round the hotel through the vent's and was found to be a fault from outside, myself and a australian man complained to which the women said it was the dishwasher, he was on the 2nd floor and myself on the first then helped to locate the problem. no apology was offered.

when i felt some discomfort whilst in bed, i found that i had been bitten on the back of my leg, whilst checking the bed found a stained mattress and a hair not from myself.

the good points were the free bus service, the city itself and the free internet which i used to write this report listening to the staff moan about each other.

Stayed here for a total of 6 days during our recent Aus holiday. The hotel is very clean and comfy and the staff very friendly and helpful. We didn't eat at the hotel, but the breakfasts and evening meals all looked good. During our first stay we walked into town to eat and we didn't find it too far to walk. On our 2 subsequent stays we had a car, so drove out to Subiaco (an easy 10 min drive) where there are some great little restaurants including Wagamamas and Chutney Mary's.
We were upgraded after our first stay and had nice views out across a park towards the city. Didn't really notice any traffic noise or noise from the aircon.
I would definately stay here again and recommend it to others. The free internet was also a bonus, it was the only hotel on our travels that offered this. Also, you can easily get to Kings Park via Jacobs Ladder (dodging the maniacal keep fit fiends!)
Overall a great stay.

Excellently situated for use of the public bus services. But not ideal for eating or entertainment requirements of an evening as no local restaurants or bars nearby only accessible by taxi or private car. Sullivans do have restaurant facilities but the food is only average. However if you go for the continental breakfast it's 2nd to none, abundant & lots of choice. Hotel rooms very good & certainly very clean. All the hotel staff are very friendly & helpful apart from Shaun who is sometimes on the reception desk. Got to be the most unhelpful & hostile South African i've ever met! But don't let this put you off staying there as i would certainly use the place again.
