Return trip - new owners form last time. Friendly service at the check in. Room some what dated but clean. My room was on the second floor so it was a walk up the stairs. If that is going to be an issue - request a ground floor unit. Only down side really was the free concert in the park opposite the hotel which fired up at dusk. Though perhaps I should have wandered out to see it. :-). About a 15 minute stroll to the Hay Street Mall. Would be happy to come back again.

Booked this pace based on its location. No lifts and given a room on the third floor. Got to the room and found the door had a glass panel in it, very poor for privacy as the bathroom door was right next to the front door. Once inside the room, it was dirty, the kitchenette was tiny and dirty, would not have used the stove or fridge ( only small bar fridge supplied). The bedroom /lounge room/dining area smelt really bad and the floors were dirty. It took us only 5 mins to find another hotel on the same road and much better quality. Told reception we were leaving and no refund was ever made. small loss for escaping that awful place.

Also there is not enough parking for one car for each room, if you are not quick, too bad park on the street.

I wish I could say something nice about this place, but I cant.

Room Tip: Avoid at all costs and look close by, there are much better places around.

My family of four plus a baby stayed in a 2 room apartment unit at the City Waters for 6 days in Dec 2013 during our vacation in Perth. City Waters is conveniently located at 118 Terrace Road and it is within walking distance to Hay Street and other parts of the City Centre. One can also take the Free City Shuttle Bus (Red, Yellow, Blue and Green Cat) to move around the City Centre which is very convenient.
City Waters is sited alongside some New High-end Apartment Blocks facing the Langley Park (a large open field) and the Swan River and it has a very serene ambience which me and my wife appreciate very much. The Langley Park and the Swan Riverside is always buzzing with activities during the evening – parents with little kids playing at the Langley Park playground, adults running & exercising, playing ball games on the field and others cycling or taking evening walks along the Swan River. We were fortune to chance upon a free event “City of Perth SYMPHONY IN THE CITY” held at the Langley Park on 14 Dec 2013 at 7.30pm which was a big event with a huge turnout.
City Waters is a good choice for basic accommodation and our stay at City Waters was pleasant. The Reception Staff were very polite and helpful and we won’t mind staying at the City Waters on our return visit to Perth.

We have stayed in the apartments several times over the last few years. We always enjoyed our stays. Sadly the place is under new management and all the staff have been replaced. The rooms are musty, and the linen and carpets are in desperate need of replacement. The reception staff are somewhat officious, and unfriendly now, which is such a shame because it was run by a lovely crew previously. Over all, we will never stay there again. We were treated rudely when we went to hand our key in, and told we had to wait while the double checked our room, 'in case of any incidentals or damage' We are a couple of almost 60 yrs !!

check in and check out is effortless.
Parking is provided and easy.
Unit are clean and well kept albeit grey walls and simple furnishings. Everything works well including kitchen tv bath etc. Nice central place and within walking distance to Hay street Mall and just next to Langley Park and the swan river. I would stay again.

Room Tip: request for ground floor stay ; the motel has 3 storeys and unless you r young ground floor rooms ar...

We stayed here for three nights on our arrival from the UK. Let's concentrate on the strong points, namely location and price. Good value by Australian prices and very handily placed for the city centre and public transport.

Yes, it's rather careworn motel-style accommodation and the rooms are somewhat murky but they are cleaned properly and the reception staff are friendly and helpful. With a decent Vietnamese restaurant just up the street, this makes a viable option for an inexpensive stay in Perth.

The clientele ranges from back-packers to barristers from the nearby courts. Our early morning taxi for the airport arrived exactly as requested but be aware that reception closes relatively early in the evening. Late arrivals have to use a code to access the key safe by the front door. Anyone with a mobility disability would be advised to reserve a ground floor room since the upper level is accessed by stairs. Again, these rooms look to sell early, reflecting the number of guests with their own cars.

Stayed here for 5 nights although great for budget accommodation it's a bed to sleep on. For longer stays than a night is highly not recommended the rooms are a horrible green colour and really dark. Quite an uneasy and depressing feeling being there. The website says they have free wifi which is not the case as its $10 per day and is really slow and restricted ! I needed to stay an extra night and they went from $113 a night to $180 a night which was really annoying !!!
