“Excellent Accommodation”
Reviewed 8 March 2014

We stayed in The Sebel three different times during our month's vacation in Australia. All three times we were extremely pleased with the room and adjoining kitchen/living/porch. Both had sliding glass doors to the porch that overlooked the Swan River. We enjoyed eating our breakfast on the porch while watching the boats and activity on the water. The staffs was very helpful, and the location was close to the free bus service that went to the center of town. A lovely place to stay.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the top (5th) floor for the best views of Swan Lake.

Dear Nancy G,

Thank you so much for your review and I am so happy you were able to enjoy our beautiful Hotel and our georgous city whilst in Australia. You chose well to stay at the Sebel as it is such a lovely location on the Swan River and so easy to get into the city, even though it is only a couple of km's out of the CBD.

Thank you again and be sure to look us up again if back in Perth,

Regards,

Mandy

I will be honest the best thing about staying at this place in addition to the great location, rooms, service, gym, bike hire is that fact it is walking distance to our favourite café - Toast - best breakfast in Perth!

To elaborate on the room - We just got a studio and it was perfect for our weekend stay. We had no issues with parking and the team were accommodating as we arrived on a late flight from Sydney.

Thank you for a lovely stay :)

Room Tip: Take advantage of the Bike hire

Dear SunshineGrace,

Thank you so much for your terrific review. You are spot on, there are some of the greatest cafes and restaurants within such a short distance to the Hotel. It is also convenient as you can charge back to your rooms from many of them. Toast is awesome and the owner is opening another cafe even closer, different name though....Keep an eye out.

Thanks again and please let me know when next in Perth so I can tell you where Toasts "sister" is...

Regards,

Mandy

We stayed at the Sebel for five nights in early February. Our room was large, clean, and well equipped with a very nice view over the cove and waterside, although the room could do with a bit of sprucing up. One minor irritation previously mentioned by others was the poor design of the shower room sink and taps. If you aren't careful you get a soaking. Surely a restricter valve could be fitted to the taps. Although there were restaurants beneath us with outdoor diners we could not hear them so weren't disturbed. The location was ideal for picking up the free CAT bus into the CBD. All the staff were friendly and helpful, with particular thanks to Christine and Daniel.

Room Tip: Make sure you get a waterside view

My stay was in January 2014, the room was fine and in line with hotels rooms world wide.

The location was good, cafes and bars near by, also on the free bus route to the city.

The city view type of room has no view of the city which makes it a lie. It has view across the road to a few shops and home units.

Dear bam1748,
Thank you for taking the time to review the Sebel Residence East Perth. I am sorry that you felt we let you down with the absence of the city view, perhaps next time you culd take advantage of the beautiful rooms that over look the swan river. The city view rooms are named to suggest the direction of the view. Again though, I do apologise

Stayed early Jan 2014 in a river view studio. A calm and serene reception area with welcome air conditioning reminded me of a luxury spa as my first impression. The room was spacious and light with lots of cupboard space and floor to ceiling mirrors as you entered (great for checking your appearance on the way out, always a winner for me!) then leading past galley kitchen facilities and shower room then opening up beyond to the bedroom and a large balcony overlooking the river. Very comfortable and large bed, large shower room, everything spotlessly clean. Tea and coffee provided as well as a carton of proper milk in the fridge.

There was a laundry with two washing machines, a tumble dryer and free washing powder right next to our room so we managed to do all of our laundry before flying home (to a very damp UK with no tumble dryer believe me it would have taken us a week otherwise!)

Bikes were available to borrow and you could reserve a slot to cook your dinner on a barbeque outside (all utensils provided). The pool area was just right for a quick dip and relax with a book, the outside areas too were spotless. Reception staff were friendly and welcoming, we left bags with them as we arrived early so our room wasn't quite ready then again at the end of the trip as we had a few hours to kill after check out before heading to the airport. Reception also ordered plus a taxi after advising us how long it would take in current traffic so we had an extra half hour sitting outside soaking up the sun thanks to their sound advice!

There are a few places to eat and drink below the hotel adjacent to the river We tried three of them: Toast does very good breakfast fare all day (7-7) lovely coffees and smoothies and the staff are excellent, its extremely busy in the morning, even at 7am on a Sunday but has a lovely ambience. We had lovely food at the restaurant right next to Toast (The Partisan - pre book for an outside table) again really great service, sublime tasting food and a good price. The flasher looking and pricier restaurant (The Royal) on the corner had good food and a good wine list (they offer taster glasses if you cant decide, always good) but service was painfully slow, not especially good and they take a card off you in case you run away if sitting outside!

The free CAT bus stops outside the hotel so just jump on and see where it takes you! We also walked down to the WACA (even though we'd lost the Ashes by then) which only took five minutes so an ideal place to stay if going to watch the cricket.

Overall I thoroughly recommend this hotel and am very glad we
