As a place to get some rest and refresh for the next day, Mantra on Murray is well located and very comfortable. You want to get a rear facing room, from past experience!, and as i managed this on this occassion, it was quiet compared to the front facing rooms over busy Murray Street bars. Check in was easy and passes for undercover, secure parking under the nearby shopping centre were quite handy and easy for freeway access in and out of the city (from Wellington Street) All the facilities you need are within a couple minute walk.

Room Tip: get a rear room, not facing Muray Street.

Well, it was time to treat my wife. The Mantra on Murray advertised a package and we went in for the big treat....WRONG! We were placed in a studio facing Murray street Mall and were subject to horrific noise from the bar opposite until about 2:00 am. Absolutley could not sleep through that. The worst thing is I casually mentioned this on check-out (was not asked the usual "did you enjoy your stay"?) and wasc met with a shrug of the shoulders. I even filled out the guest survey card with my phone number and email - you guessd it...never heard a thing.
Simple solution for us - we will not return.

Stayed here late last year on a scoupon deal. Location was great for the inner city, very convenient to the train station. Caught the train in, and then walked. Good pubs and restaurants close by. Check in was fairly quick and painless. Great location if you are going for concert at the Arena as you can easily walk. The room was a decent size and very clean. Breakfast was also included, which was a basic buffet. Not many staff on hand, but food ok, nothing special

room service will check if those used toiletries are adequate for the next usage before replenishing.

no gym.

pathetic continental breakfast serving at 28 AUD.

wifi on 25 AUD per day.

For all the above, you are paying 300+/400 (depending on season) AUD per night. absolutely crap.

Stayed here for one night, when we arrived we had to wait 20 mins to check in as they had forgotten to put our details in the system even though I was standing there with a sleeping baby in my arms. The girls at reception were more interested in chatting to some guy than helping us. Room was supposed to have separate living area but it's not separate, cheap crappy furniture, smelt like cigarette smoke, terrible shower with bad water pressure and grotty. It's right next to the shops so the location is good but otherwise it's definitely nothing special wouldn't go back.

The location says it all. Close to restaurants, malls, night-life and also close to the business entity that I had to visit in Perth. Quick check in, big room with king bed & kitchenette. Easy access to the main Perth railway station and free CAT buses. Buffet breakfast was a treat although it does get boring if you are staying there for too many days eating the same stuff (I was there for 5 mornings). Friendly staff and good concierge service. The room was looked after everyday with all sheets & bed kept neat & tidy once I got back in the evening.

For the business traveller this is pretty much the bees knees for the price.

You get a very central location with simple yet well enough appointed rooms, all the amenities you'd expect and peace and quiet with friendly staff, brisk check in and once the meetings are over you are plonked right near a range of eateries.

If you are feeling particularly lazy (we've all been there) then you can grab a bite to eat for breakfast, lunch or dinner from Bar 305 downstairs though it can be overpriced. If you are staying a few days the kitchenette may come in handy - it is certainly a nice touch.

There is a taxi rank across the road from this hotel which means that you are rarely caught short trying to catch that early morning flight and check out is as brisk as the check in was.

Recommended for the business traveller.
